Welcome....and dont forget..some people on forums like to add at least 10 years onto other peoples age, so I doubt anyone is old as you think they are.
Not on here it isn't, he hasn't even been made a member.
You should actually let him join, the first time he over steps the mark ban him. He can last 5 minutes a day or years.
If he does leave dogs for here. The place will die a death or be full of dtv'ers which amounts to the same thing.
He's too nasty about Syl and it's unwarranted.
The rest of the forum is nothing like the Whine whereas Dogs is basically a trolling forum, readers don't even bother with The snug do they😴
Dean wouldn't like the rest of CM, he likes to troll and cause disputes which is cool, he is on a trolling forum after all so Dogs suit him better. You can't piss off moderation and expect to be accepted.

You did though!
I don't think Syl would agree with you, I have always treated her with the upmost respect and I genuinely like her, always have. In debates I always agreed with her pov, we just "got" each other . Not on every topic obviously..and she might totally disagree and say so lol !
I won't be answering trolling Anons who don't name themselves but your post was sooo desperate I pitied you!
I didn't "piss off" the current Admin, my real life was invaded on the old CM and abuse got way out of hand. But neither Digger or Syl took part in that and I abused neither of them either.
Try and rake up the past if you wish but no one will thank you for it ...Digger and Syl have turned the place around and have done themselves proud 👍

Yes we have always got on, I don't think either of us found any reason not to.
I do think CM is a completely different forum to how it used to be. Since Digger took it on it's been friendly and quiet, which has been great for a few friends to meet up and chat in peace.
Lately it has got busier, but imo it still has the same friendly vibe....obviously apart from in Whine.
I have noticed age is used against people on these forums. I say people but frankly, it's women. Women calling women of the same age an old such a such..there's no logic. The men who insult women for no longer being 25 aren't exactly in the first flush of youth either..it's madness, makes no flipping sense!

But you are ancient...
Ancient is always someone 10 years older than you are.
When you are 20.... 30 is old.
When you are 50....60, and so on.
It would be unfair to say it's just forums rife with ageism, the media is obsessed with only having women int their 20s and 30's on the television and quite blatant about it. Sky Sports are the most amusing, they have pretty 30 something ladies sat next to some old dude who looks like he might have been around when Noah built his Ark.
It's the misogynistic element that I find unfair. Even BBC got in on the act with Strictly..there was a brilliant judge they booted off just due to her age, ditto MorIa Stewart yet Brucey (pared with the elegant ex model Tess Daly 40 years his junior? ?) was allowed to keep presenting until the gentleman's advanced years made it impossible for him to continue due to ill health..!
One might argue Forsythe was an institution in the dancing sphere but so was the judge Arlene that they booted off and she didn't offend my eyes.
Anyway I've gone off topic a tad..I just feel ladies do themselves a dis service labelling each other "old", "sl*ts" "wh*res"and all the other terms men are only too happy to use against them, on forums, social media and in real life.
If we stuck together the terms would be solely the weapons of men and lose their power. By using misogynistic labels against each other women are valididating them.
And I digress..my apologies Syl and Digger.

Brucie was a TV and light-entertainment institution full stop. He got a pass because of that the BEEB said he could leave when he wanted. Which is what he did. Women with the same level of fame and longevity should also get that privilege.
Anyone else whether female or male should be judged on how good they're at their job. That's it. They should have kept Arlene if she wanted to stay.
Using age against people is bullshit. Time doesn't stand still for any fucker.
Everyone will get there one day if they're lucky. Or indeed unlucky.. however you want to look at it. :D
Well indeed JP, as they say, Time and Tide..
In other cultures and countries it goes without saying older people are respected for the wisdom they now possess due to experience.
Italy is a good example where the concept of the family is also cherished. The Grandmother is seen as the head of the family, and her blessing sought after by younger members. She is never to be disrespected.
It's a shame Britain doesn't see the wisdom and insight that older people have to offer. In society they are dismissed as if they are meaningless baggage, largely ignored by the media in particular .Older men saw and fought through harsh soul destroying wars men of today simply couldn't tolerate, physically or mentally. They tend to be gentleman towards ladies too, obviously this is not true for all but for many.
My grandfather's have past away now and they had great respect for their wives, my mum and all ladies generally.
Yes, they were old fashioned and the gender stereotypes were certainly evident-my Gran were meant to cook and clean and my Grandfather tended to the allotment and did any physical jobs that needed doing round the house. But far more importantly I feel was the innate kindness and good manners of that generation. That is at least, my experience but I'm sure others have encountered different experiences.

She did but they no longer had any use for her.
Alesha Dixon replaced her I believe who was actually a fine judge after some practice and also an excellent dancer in her own right but she was chosen because she was younger and beautiful.
Everyone has to be young and "marketable" to make music now too. Young people have always made and enjoyed their own music, it has always been so. However the obsession with looks that now exist and having the perfect airbrushed video to accompany the oftentimes soul less superficial song means no average looking youngster is offered a record contract.
They have to become a success through word of mouth and working tirelessly to obtain commercial success.
Pop Idol started the depressing trend and then X Factor etc have really ruined music by turning it into a corporate money making concept where talent is no longer necessary. As long as the young puppets look good in a video or advert that's all that seemingly matters.
I can't imagine old age alone.
Could happen but unlikely the size of close family with the kids grandkids all being so into each other's lives.
All that happened to you in life .... all those places and faces all the those highs and lows all those uncertainties and successes .... no one will want to know when you're sat in the old folks homes. No one will have the time or inclination to hear your tales.
You'll be left alone with your thoughts your lifetimes experiences.
I see it as a cutting off.
Breakfast at 8 lunch at 12 evening meal at 6 and a sticky bun at 9.
Every day.
You fancy a walk to the pub?
What pub?
Anyway they don't allow the inmates to have alcohol .... medication health and safety and all that.
I think I might prefer being homeless to be honest and living in a shelter in the woods and eating pot noodles and biscuits and sipping rum every night.
It's true, older people in Residential homes seem to merely exist rather than live. Society has deemed older people a burden who should be locked away in such group homes ghastly concept that they are, sneered at by the staff paid to assist and comfort them.
I worked as a carer many moons ago and grew close to a 90 year old lady with dementia. She understood very little but when she did she had a lovely chuckle and a distinct "flattery will get you every where! " look. Her family did not relish visiting her when she was so ill and prone to outbursts but they told me she was no body's fool before dementia took her.
I think being old and isolated might be akin to a silent scream of despair, especially if a much cherished spouse has passed before you.
Old age is very cruel.

To die alone and forgotten is a truly terrible fate and it happens to many more poor souls than people might think. :(
That's why it's sad that community spirit has gone, checking on neighbours and taking a tiny thirty minutes out of your day just to have a chat with elderly people who are alone and feel isolated.
But at the same time you don't want them to think your pitying them.
Anyway it's the Whine and the Guests will be bored silly by us talking decently.
