That's the main problem with forum life though doc we all see things from very different perspectives.

I'v seen Stooo have the piss taken out of him for his silly blue hat his support for the libs etc but at the end of the day he's the only one who actually got off his arse and did something .... only one who tried to change anything whether you love him or loathe him.

Dean objects to women being "girls" in the workplace but doesn't mind calling a woman on a forum a "cunt".

Dean has been very fair minded when everyone around him was insulting me for the lols, Lady M and Xtras debating if I was born a man etc so they can all be pretty nasty on there.

The Pay in the Workplace thread is particularly vicious, Dean is obviously in the wrong to call Lady M a c*nt just for creating a pretty standard thread. But he is always targeting her and in the thread he claims to hate all women equally-I do believe he should just be taken at his word.

Bans have been dished out for far far less . But as much as Hobbit and Holly clearly despise him he never receives one.

For what it's worth Dr Synne I think you were spot on with your comments about how McAz is absurdly selective in what he chooses to be offended by. Lord Raven should not call women at work "girls' but it's OK for Dean to call women on forums 'c*nts'.

Well, it's not one rule for the rest of the world and another for Dean sadly, except in Aziz's view.

It's transparent trolling on McAz's part. I think acknowledging it is understandable but gives his carry on too much merit. He is behaving very foolishly for reasons known only to him. It is cringeworthy to witness him pretending not to recognise his own hypocrisy. At least Dean is being true to himself, McAz used to be witty, intelligent and fair-minded.

Now sadly he us unrecognisable as a poster.

I don't know quite why, I can understand adult women objecting to "girl" if it was used in a patronising way although it is nothing compared to the term "c*nt" surely which McAz has never objected to Dean saying to women.

When blokes have said "young lady " to me in real life I haven't felt insulted at all but I certainly can't speak for every woman. Maybe "lady" is now considered to be condescending or patronising, I have no idea tbh.😕

Most of them are just taking the piss for entertainment and watching as others get enraged confused upset and to be fair that is what it was set up for.
It could of course just have been yet another place to chat but that wasn't the idea.
There's a billion places to do that and at the end of the day dogs has outlasted them all and forever seems like it's on its last legs but never actually falls over.
I suppose it will topple over one day and to be honest I'll be sad to see it go.

Sorry, my mistake.

McAz is saying calling a woman a lady at work could call for disciplinary action.

I thought the term "lady" was entirely acceptable, even polite.

And yes imo Canny is a lady, I have always called other women ladies and never meant any disrespect, Infact quite the opposite!

That's an entIrely accurate summary.

So for the majority it's all an act. That explains a lot, like McAz explaining to Calitom very rarely are women called c*nts in real life, it is a term used all the time on forums.

But women are still women on forums McAz. They are posting on a forum yes but all that means is they are using the Internet to communicate with others to pass the time.

It doesn't mean they become devoid of feeling of should be less respected. I think Dogs being a trolling forum is being used as an excuse for some male posters to be misogynistic bullying and bitter.

There are some lines that shouldn't be crossed, "forum" or not. Just my opinion.

But you're right Rollup, tis a trolling forum so I suppose anything goes.

But the increase in hostility has seen many female posters flee, a point is reached where people just have had enough I think.

I have a few things to say on this matter from someone (me) who was new to Dogs. However I try not to be too judgemental on things that I label as "personal stuff" as I ultimately don't know all the ins and outs of peoples pasts and interactions. All I do is try to make sense of peoples posts especially when they are replying to me. I was thinking of starting a new thread on it because it forms a separate "issue" of my time and formative understanding of that place.

I break down my time on dogs into three/four phases

1) finding a community of DS whingers on Dogs.

2) Being sucked into the rabbit hole with the appearance of SD777 (trying to understand his posts)

3) Issues with moderation while posting as a baghead on socio-political matters. Frustrations with this phase led me to start the original post of this thread.

And finally I am in a phase four where I think I am moving to a better appreciation of phase 3 and a peace of mind towards it.

I worked that out fairly quick and I won't pretend I don't enjoy a bitch and banter some are shock jocks who go too far and a fair number from the peanut gallery. It is what it is fair enough.

I would say though that if that's the case why can words and comments of others get seized on and turned into some faux outrage fest. As I've said if it's a trolling firum no one gets to have the monopoly on bad behaviour or crappy comments.
PS I'm woefully ignorant about FM's history and who gets on with who or not. I just say it as I come across it.

I worked that out fairly quick and I won't pretend I don't enjoy a bitch and banter some are shock jocks who go too far and a fair number from the peanut gallery. It is what it is fair enough.

Presumably you are a new poster on there (and here) so you are still working out who are the genuine posters, the trolls, the odd ones, the 'normal' ones etc.

Both forums are different and both appeal to different kinds of people ….if you like getting in constant rows, cheering on bullies, being a bystander and watching victims being selected and hounded....Dogs is ideal for that.

We have a watered down version here in the Whine which is just a small section of this forum. Dogs does have the snug but it's certainly not the main attraction over there.

I didn't realise it was a trolling forum so I got pretty upset when I was called deformed etc when I we first arrived, also some people have differing views on how far trolling should go. Hence problems arise.

I don't think calling a woman the c word is morally right and that is not faux outrage. You said yourself you wouldn't personally call a woman a c*nt, even on a forum. I think Hobbit probably feels he same, it just feels inherently wrong to allow men to address you that way and further still, you are not allowed to voice that feeling for fear of being viewed as t desiring a double standard,

Well yes, ok I will admit it, I want a double standard. I want men on forums to act as they do in real life and not call women c*nts. It just makes the "atmosphere " on the plsce unfriendly and hostile imo.

Ledge wants to spam menopausal videos in his posts to mock female posters.

McAz wants people to stop chastising Dean for being racist to Lady M so posts like "the fat indian cunt" are perfectly within the boundaries in his view. In basic terms he feels if male posters cannot call women c*nts that is not equality for men.

He deems it unfair that men on forums are viewed as misogynistic for using the c word towards women because forums are not real life and apparently they wouldn’t use the term in real life (to the ladies face at least).

Does he have a point?

I don't think the outrage displayed by women on this particular matter is fake. After a while being talked to like crap just wouldn't be a pleasant way to utilise your free time.

So women have left.
