Due to a fantastic fear of flying and lack of funds it'll probably be the New Forest for me.

Which is great because I love the New Forest.

I've also heard Parisians are not a friendly people.

We visited Loch Ness this time last year and it was beautiful.  Then Cornwall in the summer.   We go to Cornwall nearly every year as it means we can have a holiday with our dog.   The beaches are awesome, the seafood is great, and the pasties....what more can I say?

Did sightings of a repulsive monster go up whilst you were there?

Budgie didn't make a show, no.

 lol

I would love to go to Paris and the South of France happy, clichéd as it sounds.

Sadly lack of funds in the near (and distant! ) future mean I can't even make it to..Filey. 😛

I did go to Sorrento and Naples in Italy on holiday and it was truly beautiful.  The hot climate makes people far more relaxed and a result happier and healthier, I believe.

I went to Paris a few years ago, it was very romantic, and contrary to what everyone said, I found all but two of the people I met there really welcoming.

One was an ignorant woman on the Metro who thought her handbag deserved a seat more than me, the other was an artist in Montmatre  who drew something very rude and thrust it under my nose with a leer whilst my OH had his back turned.

I'm not jealous at all to learn that you have visited Paris. Cough. ragga

I hoped it would be as romantic as people claim, the people would be more laid back snd less reserved  too I imagine. French men have a certain..allure about them imo, they certainly know how to flatter a lady!

The French seem more artistic than us as a nation and that really appeals to me.

You'll have to hide me in your suitcase the next  time you go! happy

Lol,, I doubt I will go back. Some places are great to visit once, do all the touristy things, visit the places you have seen in films, wallow in the romance and nostalgia of it all....but once it's done it's done.

Ah, Paris, the city of dreams and romance. Georgina is right, the French are much more artistic than us as a nation. Drop in at any Parisian cafe and you'll see lovers sketching each other as they sip their aperitifs. if you venture into the countryside you'll often see families - parents, grandparents and children each with an easel busily painting the landscape. Vive la France!

There are some lovely romantic places in the UK though.

St Ives, atmospheric and in the summer it has a vey beatnicky atmosphere.....no need to go to San Francisco to wear flowers in your hair, do it in St Ives.

Or be scared and romantic at the same time....go to Dracula's landing place .. Whitby, gorgeous beaches and last time we went there was some lovely little restaurants.

Wales is just full of wonderment, North, South and Mid....beautiful scenery everywhere you turn, don't be put off that it's full of Brummies and Scousers, they have to go somewhere. teehee

All the males I have met of that particular species should go somewhere alright - in a rocket fired straight at the heart of the sun! lol

I went to Cornwall last year, beautiful.  Into Devon too.  I love the West country!  My fav part of the world.

Britain has so much to offer from England to Scotland, and Wales. Such beautiful scenery.

I'm going abroad this year, but we hate airports and flying now, so might be our last time abroad, we both hate all the journey now.

I would buy another static in Wales....OH likes to be abroad more.
I swear we have the nicest scenery, most beautiful beaches, friendliest people who speak the same language and drive on the same side of the road than anywhere else in the world....we just don't have the weather.

I suggest Wuhan.

It's very quiet at this time of year - it certainly seems so now.
