I don't know much about Fletch but from what I see at a glance he is one of the "politically committed group" which I also group Cactus Jack, CannyDC, RollUp, Stooo into. Reading their at times lengthy comments they do seem rather similar - left leaning anti-conservative minded I think.
From experience I know Stooo takes his politically activism / viewpoint very seriously - so I can only assume there was some political disagreement betw. Stooo and Fletch that was taken personally that led to the lengthy ban.

Forum bans are not based on merit but personal dislike.

Stooo doesn't take his activism seriously, it's an attempt to fill a void.
