I've gotten where I prefer social media more. It makes for more honest and grownup discussions, at least on my own page. There is some "forum like" trolling on the news pages that I follow, but it's still better than most forums. Unless you have a fake account, people you know well will see your comments and that makes people behave a little better.

I can say what I want in here and won't have to see any of y'all tonight. That's not the case for my Facebook page.

I always think people use social media more for comments rather than proper debate, I'm probably wrong though.

 I use social media as my media. I follow dozens of news organizations and politicians and such. I post from those sources. I post a few news stories every day and get some debate on some. But it's more civil debate because at the end of the day most folks know that they can't hide behind the screen.
