I did see his blustering attempt at suggesting ways to treat the virus, he was dead serious, I also saw him backtracking trying to pretend he was being sarcastic.
I know it's sad that in todays climate people are using rival politicians to score political points, but he is just so stupid in his case it really cant be avoided.
Yeah, he needs to let doctors and scientists do their thing. His ego doesn't allow for that though. But after awhile you realize he throws a lot of shit against the wall to see what sticks.
It's a crazy way to act in public when you're the President..
It's a throwback to his business days when that's how it's done in PRIVATE meetings.
Hell, if you listen to tapes of politicians being candid behind the scenes they say some crazy shit, but they are well rehearsed by the time the cameras are rolling. The Orange one doesn't do that.
I know….the madness is that this ridiculously naïve and childish man has risen to be one of the most important men in the world.

The facts that his followers blindly follow everything he says astonishes me.
Then again as his support base consists of the NRA gun worshippers, far right evangelicals, creationists, anti-abortionists, anti-science nuts and conspiracy theorists I really shouldn't be.
It's like a cult.

And his detractors blindly disagree with everything he says.
And here we are. The entire response has become political.

Not me MD, I would give him credit if he actually did anything worthy of it - but I can't think of one good thing he has done for anyone but his rich buddies.
He has also rolled back as many environmental measures as he could.
I was no fan of Dubya but even he created an ocean reserve which I admired him for.
He is undoing all the good work of previous presidents in this respect.

The power of the presidency is overstated. By him and many others. Hopefully, this will lead to the President having even less power.
In terms of this pandemic, much of the response is done at the state level, where it should be.
That's why I don't get as a animated as others about him talking nonsense. He doesn't have the authority to implement a lot of it. Nor should he it anyone else.

A lot of those environmental issues trampled on property rights. I support those measures. Obama has no reservations about putting his boot in the folks in flyover country.
When Trump shuts up, he does do a pretty good job of getting rid of dumb regulations.

Regarding Trump most leaders tend to have their fortes. As far as I can understand Trumps is employment levels and economy. As far as I understand it as a Brit he's done a decent job there, before this crisis.

I'm a conservationist, not much of an environmentalist. We have plenty of people at the state level that know how to conserve and manage our resources. I'm fine with any politician that understands and respects that.

Thankfully, I wont have to find out. I never had to, and we are easing back on restrictions by Friday.
As much as I have been out recently, it seems most people weren't staying home anyway.
There was some pretty good compliance for a few weeks here, but folks are not staying home anymore. They are wearing masks inside stores and doing the whole social distancing thing. But the hustle and bustle is back.
Well from what you have said when talking about numbers of people in your state that have been diagnosed or died of the virus, it has worked for you.
Obviously it hasn't worked in other parts of America where the overall total of people who have contracted the virus has now topped one million.
I think it's to do with more testing as the USA has carried out many more tests, so more identified than the UK. The USA has a population about 11 times the size of England so in context they are doing well and I hope it contiunes. Just praying for a vaccine and before that some medicine that stops this virus.
Yep, all those factors come into force.
Hopefully not too many Yanks (sorry Maddog) don't follow the idiots advice about disinfectant being a possible medication.
Anyone who actually believes a word that moronic orange bag of wind and piss says deserves all they get.
It would remove a few idiots from the gene pool that's for certain.
Too far. Can't you stick to slagging Trump off instead of saying the naive and uneducated deserve all they get. Prejudice is rife in redneck south because education is scarce.
Trump keeps loyal electorates ignorant because if they learnt what a bustling baboon the prick was his days would be numbered.
I could sit here for about 2 weeks and never come up with a sentence as plain nasty as tlhe genepool one .but I get Trump annoys the fuck out of ppl.
