If you can stand to watch with subtitles then check out a series called Callifat (Caliphate). A Swedish drama about terrorists grooming young people. Very very good.

 It would wind you up.

Not a feelgood drama in any sense of the word.

-Let-The-Right-One-In-Poster-let-the-rig

Two masterpieces from Del Toro - El Orfanato and  El Laberinto del Fauno.

Is it a bit wicker man in Thrapston. I'm imagining a quaint village with a secret witches coven.

With a stark naked Britt Ekland lookalike banging on the walls to a hidden beat.....not unsimilar  to most suburban towns.

Let the Right One In was one of the best horrors in years. IMO

Never got the Asian horror thing though just don't find them all that good. Train to Busan aside.

Or The Shawshank Redemption because it has a happy ending!

This scene was incredible and it's hardly a spoiler since the movie is almost 30 years old now. happy

Sadly Henri lied and was talking utter bollocks in the novel - thus the film is such as well - the brutal conditions and punishments were correct but he did not go through them to the extent he said and his actions were those of other people.

Not surprising really - few murderers in real life are heroic figures outside of Hollywood blockbusters.
