You have a problem you don't know everyone who posts here in all areas. Not all post in the whine. At my last count 23 people never post in the whine.

It's different because we respect each other. We don't have to agree with one another but we do manage to debate like 'normal' people without throwing nasty insults around all the time, what's the point?

Having said that, not sure if it's anything to do with this thread, knowing that if pointless personal abuse is written the posts wont be submitted, but we have had a lot less nasty guest posts in the last couple of days.

You shouldn't have to put up with any ott nasty posts, it's not flipping primary school. I honestly feel the lockdown is to do with it so please don't take it personally.

Easy for me to say maybe but the suicide rate has shot through the roof so some people are really suffering with mental health. in all seriousness, and I don't think this is considered enough on these forums, you are often reading posts from lonely ill people. That does not excuse but may explain their actions. Keep your head up Syl

i disagree with you anon about them being ill as you put it. some of these nasty plonkers as just nasty, evil, call it what you like. they do it 24-7 and often get caught out and told off by many then they pretend they are the injured party, eg fake outrage, injury, you name it. if i was syl or digs, the first nasty word i come to delete it and ban their ip straight away. funny thing. sadly many use the mental health thing to go around abusing people where as in reality they are pure evil. better still, let their posts through but everyone that has real respect for the owner, admin must ignore the shite, nasty posts, that will soon stop them.

I think the majority of nasty guest posters have nothing to do with the lockdown, reason being they have always happened, long before the lockdown happened.

I agree with your second point. Unless we have posted with people for ages, we really have no idea who we are replying to, what's going on in their lives, their mental health, that's why I think people should be kinder to each other and not deliberately try to hurt them.

I am getting sick of approving rubbish, so it wont be getting approved by me, and the majority of the rubbish is posted by anons, to stir up trouble or get a reaction.

Yes this is the Whine...and people vent, but there are limits to what 's acceptable.

syl, digs, not all anons are crazy, etc. the reason some post this tripe is that they are jealous of what you have and they are just pure nasty. it could even be that one or more of them is a pretend friend, you will never know. if someone posts nicely, allow it if it's trying to cause upset, don't even mention it as this will really wind the b's up and soon they will be fighting each other and hatching plans how to trip up ex mates. x stay safe and wear your mask when in public. :-)

That's all very well but when anons are posting abusive, goading and nasty stuff behind the shield of being a guest poster, are we supposed to give them the benefit of the doubt.

This is a forum, no one is or should be expected to take up the burden of someone elses (possible) mental health issues. If there are such examples posting here that is their choice. We are not here to be punch bags for someones own personal problems.

But yes I do acknowledge that sometimes just by virtue of it being an anon post it can sometimes receive a fairly curt response.

I know not all anons are crazy, some are OK, and we also have some people who are not members here but keep in touch via Whine.

I was talking to and about the ones who do nothing but make personal, pointless posts for no reason other than to be nasty. They will be binned, others wont, which is why I said in my OP.....

thanks, syl. you made my day. please also remember most posters with an agenda will just name names for nasty, or perceived nasty posters and copy their style but you already know that. you both run a nice ship and do not take fools gladly. :-) btw, you can edit this bit but when anons even members say oh its dean, ledg, budgie, phil, token, claire, etc, etc - likely they've fallen out with them for being nasty to them in the first place. thanks.

I think the majority of nasty guest posters have nothing to do with the lockdown, reason being they have always happened, long before the lockdown happened.
I agree with your second point. Unless we have posted with people for ages, we really have no idea who we are replying to, what's going on in their lives, their mental health, that's why I think people should be kinder to each other and not deliberately try to hurt them.

Seriously? Look around this section, it's been happening all week. You need to take a leaf out of your own book and lead by example then. (Not you personally, but the 'collective' you)

I am getting sick of approving rubbish, so it wont be getting approved by me, and the majority of the rubbish is posted by anons, to stir up trouble or get a reaction.
Yes this is the Whine...and people vent, but there are limits to what 's acceptable.
syl, digs, not all anons are crazy, etc. the reason some post this tripe is that they are jealous of what you have and they are just pure nasty. it could even be that one or more of them is a pretend friend, you will never know. if someone posts nicely, allow it if it's trying to cause upset, don't even mention it as this will really wind the b's up and soon they will be fighting each other and hatching plans how to trip up ex mates. x stay safe and wear your mask when in public. :-)

I was talking to and about the ones who do nothing but make personal, pointless posts for no reason other than to be nasty. They will be binned, others wont, which is why I said in my OP.....

And as I said, take a leaf out of your own book. You all happily sit back and allow certain people to get abused, and no one utters a word. Georgia for example. You let all sorts of abusive posts through aimed at her, some were disgusting, yet still approved and put up for all to see. Luckily she handled it well, on here anyway, who knows how it affected her irl though?

That's all very well but when anons are posting abusive, goading and nasty stuff behind the shield of being a guest poster, are we supposed to give them the benefit of the doubt.
This is a forum, no one is or should be expected to take up the burden of someone elses (possible) mental health issues. If there are such examples posting here that is their choice. We are not here to be punch bags for someones own personal problems.
But yes I do acknowledge that sometimes just by virtue of it being an anon post it can sometimes receive a fairly curt response.

thanks, syl. you made my day. please also remember most posters with an agenda will just name names for nasty, or perceived nasty posters and copy their style but you already know that. you both run a nice ship and do not take fools gladly. :-) btw, you can edit this bit but when anons even members say oh its dean, ledg, budgie, phil, token, claire, etc, etc - likely they've fallen out with them for being nasty to them in the first place. thanks.

No it's not funny, it's gone too far, especially in the last 2 or 3 weeks when both Digger and myself have to wade through the increasingly pathetic childish posts every day.

Georgia is not up for discussion, she doesn't post here anymore ….I will say though that when she did she made a beeline for the Whine, and gave as good as she got, usually better because unlike lots of cowardly guests she did have a brain.

And yes I am picking and choosing, it's called moderating....deal with it.

Oh right, it's only "gone too far" because it's affected you and Digger and what you have to "wade through", not the fact that abuse is thrown around on a daily basis.

I used Georgia as an example, and it was a valid comment and point to make. You and Digger obviously didn't mind 'wading' through all that crap about her and approve the posts though. As I said, picking and choosing when it suits.

And it has nothing to do with moderation, it has everything to do with having that tiny bit of power over people who you let get targeted. It's you and Digger that let the posts through, so blaming the anons is just passing the buck. Without you two approving the posts in the first place no one would see the abusive comments.
