Weather is not as great as predicted today. Almost everyone I know is going to the beach, etc and meeting family, friends there. We are driving to a a beach  in about an hours time and friends will meet us there but we will practice the social distancing rules. Western-super Mare here we come

No.
There are appeals from beauty spots and coastal areas telling people to please stay local.
Most carparks and toilets are closed, all holiday attractions are closed, and don't even bother driving into N Wales because their lockdown hasn't been lifted and you may be fined if you cross the border from England.

No.

But if I fancied doing so. I'd only get out of my car if the place I chose to go didn't look too busy! I'd go elsewhere if my first choice place to visit looked busy. Hopefully that's what people will do. Use their brain a little.

It's raining like cats and dogs here.

Maybe tomorrow.

Well not the beach. The best ones in Texas are about 10 hours away.

There's a relatively good chance it never will be.

Our street is as as silent as ever and thank God for that, Yorkshire now has the highest transmission rate in the country and I would rather people stay at home than ponce about on the beach risking a massive second wave.

Probably, but it will be controlled more when more people are immune and a vaccine becomes available. Like the various flu viruses no doubt this one will appear annually...….just one more shit thing in life to contend with.bored

I think immunity plays a part in why London only had 24 news cases the other day and has a lower R rate than other parts of the UK. I bet huge numbers have been through covid19 in London, be it mildly, in a asymptomatic form, or otherwise. Its kinda burnt itself out in London. And MANY now have at least some immunity.

May never be a vaccine either. Still plenty of things out there that kill us and we don't have a vaccine for.

True, many things have a risk, it's up to us to work out how much of a risk and act accordingly.

Yeah, I think this is as safe as it's going to be for a year or more.  People will have to decide how the will live for quite some time with this level of risk.  Waiting a month or two isn't going to change anything.

Well personally I will wait till the R rate drops.
Foreign holidays are out this year and maybe next.
Reading the way hotels, restaurants and even beaches are going to have to be set up to accommodate social distancing doesn't sound like much fun anyway.

I take the dog out every day. Not had a proper day out since the lock down. Missing restaurants and the big outdoors.

I miss restaurants too, but more than that I miss going places in the afternoons, anywhere, country walks, shopping and garden centres, wherever, and finding cafes where we can sit out and have a snack or a cream tea.

Funny how we never value freedom till it's taken away.
