I dont think it's an exaggeration to say 'most' JP.....I have listened to lot's of phone in's and read realms of news about it...as have we all no doubt, and the overwhelming opinion seems to be he was wrong.
It was blown out of proportion, but it was his hypocrisy, his refusal to apologise, and the backing he got from his mates in power that caused that.
We obviously do agree on the last point.
I think it is. I could show you many places online where, many, many, people have the opinion that he did nothing wrong.
Have you looked up what the Labour MP Barry Gardiner has done? He certainly has been to close to many people! Unlike Cummings who didn't get close to anybody else.
The hypocrisy is bullshit. Cummings had far more reason to do what he did over and above the now 5 definite Labour MP rule flouters.

Cummings has made excuses for the way he flouted the rules, most people think he was wrong.
If that encourages other people to break the rules they are as stupidly selfish as he is.
I wouldn't say most. Many, many, people that I've seen voice an opinion think it was blown way out of proportion. But all that aside.
People would be stupid if they put themselves and potentially their loved ones in more danger than necessary just due to the Cummings saga. Why would anyone do that.
Certain people seem to lose all common sense and individuality when there's even a whiff of insurrection they can wallow in. It's become a personal indulgence. A kind of warped badge of honour they pin around social media. The me me me mentality. What would these people do if they had to go into a real battle like all those young men in two world wars? They've got about as much spine as a fucking jellyfish. They'd rather run with the herd than stop and think that they might catch and spread the disease that's still very much with us, that's still killing us, and hasn't gone away, than deprive themselves of being all woke and right on, so long as it doesn't interfere with their moronic tweets and selfies.
There are people who've been unable to be with their loved ones as they died, forbidden to attend funerals, cancer victims denied treatment, doctors and nurses dead before their time....but no...let's all bend the knee and clutch the breast and gather in our thousands. Next week they'll all be clapping for the NHS workers they might well be helping to infect and kill. These will be the same screaming hordes who wanted Dominic Cummings strung up for his audacity. Bunch of fucking hypocrites.
Very good post.
Its crazy. When you take this situation down to very basics! It comes down to two things.
Do you want to get this vicious virus. Do you want to potentially pass it onto your loved ones. If the answer is, no! Then you will always do the right things. Only a dumb fuck who doesn't care about themselves or anyone else would think any different.
I think it cant be denied that this government has done their best in the circumstances, and they admitted all along they can and will do better. I don't believa any government could have handled this better.....and No, I am not a Tory and never will be.
Sorry Syl but it certainly can and is denied.
If they did their best why do we have so many needless deaths in this country, only the USA has more and that's because a clueless narcissist is running the country.
The statistic of 2nd country with most fatalities due to Covid is woeful and of course the Government should have done better. We were also the ONLY country to allow flights in and not check any passenger for the virus. Can you explain that?
Deaths. Compare those early 2021. If you're after like-for-like comparisons.
And this isn't a competition. You sound like Sky News. The CMO once pointed that out. You should also start thinking where the virus came from, certainly wasn't here. There are some interesting things now starting to come out.

I think we will have to agree to disagree on that JP.
And other people breaking the lockdown/social distancing rules are just as arrogantly stupid, no matter which political party they support.

Starmer already sacked Gardner, so he could withdraw the whip. He would deserve it, all the arseholes breaking the lockdown/social distancing should be sacked IMO, and I mean all. Gardner bragging about it, complete dickhead. Look how RIGHT ON I am. Jesus.
