I thought it was you who said that JD, didn't want to give you credit just in case it wasn't... it was a very astute remark.
And yep JP, some people are totally ...well....THICK.
Is part of it that a fair number of people just do not value their life. That's how some come across. If true that would be sad. A guy at that protest today in London, said he doesn't care if he gets Covid19 this cause is bigger than that. WTF!

I read that too.
Maybe he hasn't seen newsreels of people struggling to breath in hospitals, lined up like dominoes on ventilators, when it's obvious half of them wont recover. Or maybe he doesn't care if he does catch it and passes it on to his dear old mum or vulnerable friends and relatives.....or maybe as previously started, he is just bloody THICK.

Thick as shit and a narcissist.
The willful stupidity of much of the human race never fails to astound me.

They won't recover because it's the wrong treatment. oxygen therapy and anticoagulants are the correct treatment as other countries have found out. Why we are still intubating on ventilators is anyone's guess.
Japan didn't lockdown and they have very low incidents some people have said its because they don't have a large uptake of the flu vaccination there and here it's been said that those who have the flu vaccination have more chance of getting complications with COVID
Pessimism, scaremongers, political point scoring, incessant moaning and nitpicking, are all as much if not more of a danger to this Country as the virus itself.
Too much squabbling and needless nitpicking is going on. In my view much of it STILL goes back to a Brexiters versus Remainers thing.

So the BMJ and the real experts who contribute to it are nit pickers? What are YOUR qualifications that enable you to rubbish their life long work And learned opinions?
I agree there has been a lot of nit picking instead of working together. Even scientists and expert medics are not always agreeing with each other, it's all a learning curve.
I am getting heartily sick of journalists who are forever trying to catch this government out, asking them would they like to apologise for..whatever, do they feel embarrassed about..whatever.
I think it cant be denied that this government has done their best in the circumstances, and they admitted all along they can and will do better.
I don't believa any government could have handled this better.....and No, I am not a Tory and never will be.

Well put.
I'll change some words in a famous saying. And say.. 'Too many experts spoil the outcomes'
Imo too many experts coming from various sources have stuck their oar in on TV news channels, in newspapers etc
SAGE for example has over 50 members who evidently disagree a lot. The CSO mentioned that fact some weeks back. 50 odd members is far too many in my view. 5 or possibly 10 would be plenty enough. More concise and clear messages would come from less people being involved.

Whoever wrote that exactly. Is just giving their opinion, guessing what might be going on, and telling us what might or might not happen in the future.
Bottom line. Cummings was paramountly thinking of his Child's welfare. He didn't get close to anybody else.
So these people just need to fuck off with the ok I'll just go out and do what I like bollocks! And put myself and my family potentially at higher risk from getting this vicious virus.
If they want to behave in such a dumb manner and be so easily lead. So be it. Move the fuck on.
Cummings has made excuses for the way he flouted the rules, most people think he was wrong.
If that encourages other people to break the rules they are as stupidly selfish as he is.
I wouldn't say most. Many, many, people that I've seen voice an opinion think it was blown way out of proportion. But all that aside.
People would be stupid if they put themselves and potentially their loved ones in more danger than necessary just due to the Cummings saga. Why would anyone do that.
I dont think it's an exaggeration to say 'most' JP.....I have listened to lot's of phone in's and read realms of news about it...as have we all no doubt, and the overwhelming opinion seems to be he was wrong.
It was blown out of proportion, but it was his hypocrisy, his refusal to apologise, and the backing he got from his mates in power that caused that.

Certain people seem to lose all common sense and individuality when there's even a whiff of insurrection they can wallow in. It's become a personal indulgence. A kind of warped badge of honour they pin around social media. The me me me mentality. What would these people do if they had to go into a real battle like all those young men in two world wars? They've got about as much spine as a fucking jellyfish. They'd rather run with the herd than stop and think that they might catch and spread the disease that's still very much with us, that's still killing us, and hasn't gone away, than deprive themselves of being all woke and right on, so long as it doesn't interfere with their moronic tweets and selfies.
There are people who've been unable to be with their loved ones as they died, forbidden to attend funerals, cancer victims denied treatment, doctors and nurses dead before their time....but no...let's all bend the knee and clutch the breast and gather in our thousands. Next week they'll all be clapping for the NHS workers they might well be helping to infect and kill. These will be the same screaming hordes who wanted Dominic Cummings strung up for his audacity. Bunch of fucking hypocrites.
I think it cant be denied that this government has done their best in the circumstances, and they admitted all along they can and will do better. I don't believa any government could have handled this better.....and No, I am not a Tory and never will be.
Sorry Syl but it certainly can and is denied.
If they did their best why do we have so many needless deaths in this country, only the USA has more and that's because a clueless narcissist is running the country.
The statistic of 2nd country with most fatalities due to Covid is woeful and of course the Government should have done better. We were also the ONLY country to allow flights in and not check any passenger for the virus. Can you explain that?

Yes, and has any of the news media mentioned about the perfect storm for the second wave that the demonstrations have created because non of them are following the rules?
Have they fuck - I have just seen the London bandwagon jumping rentamob on the news screaming right into the coppers faces.
It makes me fucking sick.

No I cant explain it because I wasn't privy to the scientific and 'expert' advice that they were paying heed to at the time.
They have said that at the onset of the pandemic the majority of the people infected here caught the virus from each other in the UK ....that obviously was after the initial cases had arrived from China and then Italy.
They are now saying that the 2 week quarantine rule for many incoming flights will be operated from next week to prevent a second spike....which actually does make sense.
Or it definitely would if more people here had followed the social distancing rule.
