It always starts as a legitimate protest (whatever the rights and wrongs of a particular case) and then spirals out of control when thousands use it as an excuse to burn society down (and do a nice bit of looting, arson and violence into the bargain).
That scumbag Duggan was a violent career criminal and an armed gang leader not Mary fucking Poppins, at the time the officers were in fear for their lives.
They were found innocent and rightly so.
Where are the riots in America or here every time there is a black on black murder due to gang culture?
The silence is deafening.

I agree with your first three sentences.
As for the other two, surely all decent people would be protesting (not rioting or looting) if that was a black cop on top of a black suspect or a white cop with his knee in the neck of a white man?
The video is disgusting...the murderous white cop, with his hands in his pockets, nonchalantly squeezing the life out of the man on the floor, for several minutes...whilst other cops look on almost with disinterest.
Luckily it was caught on camera, and thank God not everyone is blind to police brutality that ends in death.
Just like the murder of the black man murdered by the racist father and son in Georgia recently.
There were no charges until the video came out.
If it hadn't been for video evidence in both cases, these racists would have got away with it.
Really observing the social distancing outside the US embassy in London I see.
Why were they not dispersed?
I hope their elderly relatives are watching.
All the effort people have made over the last three months here is being ruined now by selfish bastards partying/holding raves all over, filling the beaches like sardines and now this bandwagon jumping lot.
The Government has lost the plot as well - second wave here we come.

Sadly this man's death may result in tens of thousands of others and I am referring here to the peaceful demonstrations, not all the violent, looting arsonist bastards.
The are the perfect example of how to spread COVID-19 and infect everyone they come into contact with afterwards.

Human beings can be totally disgusting. Those four cops should be tried for murder. And shame on every single person who has burned and looted their way through this. Then to cap it all...Channel 5 ran a documentary called Black Lives Matter - Rivers of Blood. Of course, black lives matter. But that whole programme felt like a match to a petrol can. There's enough hate and rage roaring around just now, without dragging the past into the future and making it more incendiary. There were plenty of white people back in Enoch Powell's time who were thoroughly disgusted with what he said. But they didn't show that.
Every person alive today is responsible for 400 years of oppression and systemic racism.
That's what has been screamed at me for a week. Mostly by my white liberal friends.
Do they ever mention the African chiefs who happily sold millions of their 'brothers' into a life of slavery?
Slavery was widespread in Africa for many millennia before the Europeans ever got involved.
Do they ever mention that slavery (just look at sex trafficking) is endemic throughout the world and has been for all of human history?
What happened centuries in the past has fuck all to do with me and should be viewed in the context of the time - my and the vast majority of people's Caucasian ancestors were living in appalling poverty in disease and vermin ridden slums and forced to work for a pittance or starve.
It really pisses me off that none of this is ever mentioned.

It seems White people are to blame for everything bad that has ever happened in the world - that's the narrative that has been hammered home time and again over the last few decades and I am fucking sick of it now.
People should read their history - but they won't.

I get pissed off when people in this country compare us to America regarding racism.
Back when America was lynching slaves, Britain was a place of black political organisation. Central to this were campaigns for the abolition of the slave trade. A determining element of that movement was the involvement of African men and women living in Britain who offered first-person testimony to the horrors of slavery, and formed lobby groups like the Sons of Africa which counted the writers and formerly enslaved Olaudah Equiano and Ottobah Cugoano among its members.
The last black man to be lynched in the States was 1981 !
Racism will always exist. Just like sexism and homophobia. I don't think there's any hope it never will...simply because it always has. There'll always be hate raging on this planet. It's been there since we first started forming tribes and building egos.

It's not convenient to go back as far as Roman times or the Ottoman empire. I wonder how many Germans still have to suffer from what happened in WW2?
You know, Scientology is banned in Germany. The Germans have the sense to see it for what it is, and after what happened with Hitler there's no way they were going allow a cult to become a power force on their doorstep.

The Black folk here will remind you that you brought many of them here, and your slave trade and slavery in your colonies didn't end much before our civil war.
And lets not forget Africa and your colonies there.

I was going to make that very point Digs but you have done it far more eloquently than I ever could.
We are one of the most tolerant and inclusive nations on earth and in the context of the time always have been.
This is the attitude from some over there (and here)- Bernard Hopkins, was a great fighter but is a huge arsehole, hypocrite and known racist thanks to his disgusting remarks to Joe Calzaghe before their fight.
From the Ring Magazine online today -
"You can’t have the yin without the yang. They are protesting through looting."
What a prick.

But you're right about racism. I've told people here that there is racism in the UK and probably racist cops.
But they don't fucking kill 1000 people a year there.
More like one. Granted, we have guns thrown in so our cops can't fuck around with armed people. But we kill too many people that are just being assholes or are crazy. Y'all throw'em down, cuff them, drag them to jail and get back to work. You don't sit on them for 10 minutes or shoot them 85 times.
