 Two of my best friends are black.  One from the Caribbean, who's just earned herself an MBE,  the other who's family is from Nigeria.  Both are successful, well educated women.   Are they any less privileged than me?     There's something gratingly condescending about all this apologetic knee bending 'I'm white ergo I'm privileged' stuff.   It smacks even more of white people buying into the 'all ethnic people secretly beneath me' shite.   Sure, ethnic minorities have their struggles.   Afro Caribbean young men more than others.   But do all white people look down their noses at them and think....I'm more privileged then them?   I doubt it.  I know I don't.    There's plenty of white people who suffer extreme poverty and lack of education, and don't even get me started on the centuries of sexist misogynistic crap women have had to put up with.  

Try going out in this day and age and getting yourself a job after the age of 55 or 60.  Ageism is alive and well and depriving many older people of work right alongside the youngsters who struggle too.

I don't need to go into the street and kneel down in public to prove to others I'm not a racist.   I don't follow the herd and never will.

Soon as saw that photo it didn't sit right with me. What is that Parent playing at. The kid shouldn't feel as though they are superior to a black person. That's the impression the Child could garner from that.

The kid should be taught that we are all the same. Just people. Judge the behaviour of a person not the way they look.

Watched the memorial service for a few minutes and then turned it off - no social distancing at all and it's an organised public event - and when they and those involved in the mass demonstrations (like the rent-a-mobs in London) go back to their communities to spread COVID-19 who is going to suffer the most?

Some fake news around EG some usa websites, fake press talk that this man had spent time in prison for robbery, etc in 2009 and other crimes before that. Having checked the UK media/press, nothing about this family man being a criminal in the past, and I trust the UK news. Another point, lets suppose someone in the news has a criminal record years ago for minor stuff and at times a bit more serious stuff - Dont' forget that PEOPLE CAN CHANGE.

I was please to see the tens of thousands that marched around London for peace and fairness. The demo was 999.999999999999% trouble free, you always get the odd fool wanting to have a go a at the cops. Cops, 99.9999999999% are very decent people as is the public from ALL backgrounds, colour, religion, etc. The demos and social distancing, the majority tried hard to obey the rules but at times there were just too many people, so it's not their fault.

I hope and pray that good comes out of this family man's death.
