Born Arthur Stanley Jefferson on the 16th of June 1890 in Lancashire.

Changed his name to Stan Laurel because Stan Jefferson had 13 letters in it.

Actually there's a connection between Gone With The Wind and Stan Laurel...

 

Rand Brooks who played Charles Hamilton, Scarlett's short lived first husband was married to Lois Laurel who was Stan Laurel's daughter.
