All Lives Matter?

Not to the media and not to the bandwagon virtue signalling demonstrators but the double standards (so obvious in the BBC) that will directly lead to thousands of lives being lost.

I have followed the rules to the letter to protect my elderly relatives (and myself).

What was the point?

None now.

Second Wave here we come. :(

Well the R rate in Manchester is now above 1 again.

Though the BLM demo's in Manchester have so far been peaceful, I wonder how many lives they will ultimately claim, black AND white.

I despair of the younger generation. A generation turned soft and selfish through a lifetime of never really having to worry about much other than how good they look in selfies; that the yardstick of personal integrity is how many 'likes' you get on Facebook. I'm getting to the stage where I really mourn how things used to be. Life is never easy for most of us, but I grew up in a time when you could walk miles to school, go play out with your mates and not worry about being mugged or molested. There seemed to be less fear, less complications than now. I'd truly hate to be a teenager now. It was trying enough back then without the added social media bullying, societal pressures, school exam pressures, physical striving for perfection stuff kids have to put up with now. We had less. But we had more freedom.

I agree with the freedom aspect, and life was so much simpler, and there were reasons for that.

Back in the 50's and 60's there was much less diversity. Simply put, most people were either white, straight, rich, poor, women knew their place, anyone who was not in the vast majority groups were either discriminated against or hidden.

Changes happen, some good some bad, and it's when people cant/wont/are unable to adapt to changes that problems, as we have seen escalate in the last few decades, arise.

I was born in London, and diversity was all around.  I'm not talking about ethnicity anyway.  I'm talking about people's mindsets as opposed to then.   Now, it feels more constricted.   More controlled.  The way it's going nobody will be able to do or say anything without rules and regulations breathing down your neck.   Freedom of speech is slowly being eroded.

I thank God we do have diversity of cultures, and have always embraced other cultures, it's what makes our country so interesting.   The racists in this country are in the minority.   Most of us don't even think that way.   We just want to get along and live our lives.

Well I grew up in a big city too, and it cant be denied that there was not much diversity back when I was a kid....people were obviously less accepting, don't forget homosexuality was a prisonable offence till the late 60's. Thinking back there were no black kids in my secondary school, and we lived in a poor area not an elite one.

Yes I agree racists in this country are in a minority, but racism now comes from several different corners. Some whites still look down on Blacks, maybe in a less overt way but it still happens, it all ties up with the recent demo's.  Add to that young black kids  are often fighting against each other, and don't forget Muslim gangs who are still rampaging through towns and cities grooming and raping young white kids....if that isn't racism in modern Britain what is?

You are right, everything is overly complicated now. Young women, filling their faces and lips with chemicals, getting comedy eyebrows tattooed onto their foreheads, just so you can do your best trout pout to excite shallow youths sexually. It’s some kind of weird exploitation.

this is supposed to be being your very best but it’s sad that very young women are willing to become fake Barbie Dolls in order to be popular with their peers and boys. I hate what they have become, it’s so very sad.

Look at all the abuse at Rowlings I’m not madly keen on her but she really needs to think about what she says because there is very little free speech left in this country any more. I agree with Digger‘s comments about that Bo Selecta arsehole crying into his mueseli about doing black face when he’s not apologising for decades of sexism and ritual female humiliation. All of this so called comedians pissed me right off, unfunny up their own arses twats.

What is really getting to me now is the way everyone is expected to apologise to everyone else for....everything.

First BREXIT.....two sides for and against, both blaming each other, not accepting the outcome, demanding apologies from people who voted to leave and trying to brow beat them to vote again to stay.

The country will be ruined, apologise for ruining it....if it works out you apologise for expecting me to apologise to you.

PANDEMIC....the government has been asked to apologise for the way it's been handled from the start, thousands of lives have been lost because the lockdown started too late....No it started too early, that's why thousand more are suffering. They didn't do enough to help financially, they did too much, who is going to pay for it all??
Why don't they apologise for the mess, why don't they apologise for the pandemic, why don't they apologise for the pandemic targeting black people and fat men???

BLM.....yes of course they do, if you point out that all lives matter you are a racist, apologise. And whilst you are at it apologise for what your ancestors did 400 years ago, and put your money where your mouth is because an apology isn't enough.  It's not enough that the majority of people abhor racism, sexism, homophobia, ageism, and want fair play for all....apologise for being born white...just apologise for being born and have done with it.bored

The trouble is this whole issue has been hijacked by power grabbers race hustlers and the likes of antifa who are not genuine champions of equality rather they want to invert the problem or simply destroy the system not change it for the better. And of course that will in turn be explooited by extreme right thinkers.

Well after seeing those white US cops washing the feet of black faith leaders nothing surprises me anymore.

I am sick of the UK being called  a racist nation - we are just about the most tolerant in the world. bored

 Pointless remark, why bother? bored

In relation to whether the UK is tolerant towards black and people of colour.

We most definitely are in comparison to many other countries, for a start we have laws, but we also have a pretty fair mindset which shows in the way the country is run.

But I think you would have to be black yourself to answer the question with true insight.. I was listening to a businessman  talking on local radio recently. He said he has done well for himself. He is well educated and has worked hard,   he has a penthouse apartment overlooking the Thames.

Recently in the early morning the fire alarm went off, everyone calmly queued to file out, holding the door for the person behind them, when he reached the door someone turned and asked him to show his keyfob which would prove he had the right to be in there.

He said it's that kind of racism that he faces quite often in the UK, not violence...just the less overt kind of actions that make him feel he is less than.

Or are you just virtue signalling in true woke fashion?

I am so glad that social distancing has been observed by all the responsible people in the country. bored

Lets not forget that there are members of BLM and antifa that have been caught on camera working to stop violence from escalating, stopping people from looting and in antifa's case tackling a man down who was breaking up paving slabs to use as missiles, who they then handed over to the police. In this melee it's often hard to single out the ones who want to legitimately protest and the ones who are agent provocatuers or seeking to exploit the situation.

I've seen plenty of Antifa starting the trouble.  They were the one's painting graffiti on buildings and throwing bricks ( bricks planted before the riots )  and the black protesters asking them to stop as they will get the blame. They won't stop though.

George was off his tits with such a massive amount and variety of drugs in his system I am amazed he could even walk, so why is this never mentioned on the news?

The bloke was a violent career criminal who once held a gun to a pregnant woman's stomach in a home invasion.

Hardly the actions of the saint now being portrayed in the media regardless of the manner of his death and the funeral was so over the top it was nauseating.

He was a man who was murdered by a corrupt policeman, and the cop will face justice, which is more than many other corrupt cops have done in the past and no doubt the future..
George Floyd was certainly not a saint...and I agree that the funeral, which was televised in full on many TV channels over here, was ridiculous.

I didn't watch it, I logged in here and had a laugh at some ridiculous comments left by cowardly guests like yourself to lighten the mood. wink
