Trump has until what Jan 20th to overturn this. America is clearly one of the great democracies. But there are sure some strange anomalies within the system.

This is long from done I think. Trump off to Court on Monday. Surely he has some actual evidence? It would be very silly going to Court without any to say the least.

Actually the electoral college meets about the 2nd week in December.  That's when it's technically over.

That's why the Supreme Court made Florida stop counting in December and declare a winner in 2000.  There is a time line that has to followed. You basically get about 45 days after the election to make count, fight and challenge.

It appears that Pennsylvania wont be close enough to force a recount.

Georgia will likely have one because there are other races that matter. Georgia doesnt matter in the presidential election any more,

Ah I see. Cheers. I was thinking about the day the a new POTUS is sworn in. I know that's in the first few weeks of Jan. Couldn't recall the exact date.

Media do not get to make the call.  None of the states has been certified yet so the media is just creating problems trying to cause riots to kick off.

Maddog I would be grateful if you could give us your view of how you see the relationship between Donald Trump and the Republican Party.  I have heard that many in the party didn't support him.

I have also heard that before he declared he would be running for the presidency five years ago he had been uncertain whether to be a Democrat or a Republican.

He's under no obligation to concede. The states haven't even certified their votes.  The press has called it. Of course the press knows that the states will certify their votes in a few weeks.

Then after the states certify their votes, the electoral college meets December 14th. On that day, Joe Biden will officially be president elect.  Then its official.

And yes, Joe will re enter us into the Paris Agreement and not a damn thing will change, except the US taxpayer will transfer a little money to God knows where.

World leaders have been congratulating Joe on his victory so no matter what Trump says he must know now that it's all over MD.

I think Biden will make a big change to your climate policy - he certainly seem to have ambitious plans.

Anyway it's all about money as well - renewable energy is in many cases far cheaper than coal or oil now and the cost to produce it is dropping exponentially month on month, year on year.

The era of oil and coal will soon be coming to an end if this continues.

People at least have to try and stop the world from burning in a few decades, saying nothing will change just makes the planet's future even more bleak for people's children and grand children.

It has just struck me how Trump reminds me of Wilder and his preposterous list of excuses since Fury destroyed him.

They are like a mirror in some ways because so many 'Gangsta' black Americans (who worship a rapist and know fuck all about boxing) can't take a Caucasian beating the shit out of their hero.

Anyway Fury v Joshua in a post COVID-19 world will make a lot of money now and Joshua's chances are slim, and Slim just left town.

Yes, renewables make sense. That's why it doesn't matter what Biden says.  That's why our carbon footprint shrunk while Trump was in office.  It's not always about those clowns in the capitols. Stop worshipping them.

You say 'shrunk' but in reality it's only slightly below what it was four years ago. And the small decrease has nothing to do with Trump's policies, in fact he tried to promote and expand the coal industry, a major contributor to carbon emissions. It was only market forces that made coal uneconomic as a fuel, so fortunately its use has declined.

Yes, it shrunk inspite of Trumps antics. Fracking for natural gas has helped as it's much cleaner than coal. Texas now gets 20% of its electricity from wind farms.

Hence my comment about the clowns in capitols.

Stop worshiping those fuckers. They are not your daddy, nanny, master or savior.

Trump was never the choice of many that ran the party. The  Bush's and McCain's cant stand him.

He was never a "typical" Republican. Most Republican politicans went along with him because there really wasnt an option. And fighting the system gets you thrown to the back of the bus where you are powerless in the party.,

Once he's gone, he will be discarded pretty soon from the party elite. That's politics and he's pretty toxic anyway.  Dont know how the common man in the street will feel about him in the near future.

I don't 'worship' anyone, I leave that to Trump supporters I just think Biden will try and do a good job unlike Donald he delighted in dividing the nation more than it has been in decades and was just in it for a reality type style glory show.

The main reason I have been discussing this is that it has had wall to wall coverage here 24/7 all year and I got sick of watching the orange moron's every blatant lie and the fact his willful mismanagement of COVID has cost the US thousands upon thousands of lives.

You seem to think every solution comes from government. I don't disagree that Trump supporters are a little creepy with their support. But it seems like Biden supporters are trying to give them a run for their money.

Maybe you should turn off your TV. I've watched less than 2 hours during the past week.

Go for a walk and stop blaming your obsession with Trump on what's on the idiot box. You're under no obligation to watch it.

I know you are a Libertarian and thus by nature are distrustful of government far more than most (sometimes with good reason) so we will never change each other's minds MD.

If you are sick of a leader in another country and constantly insult him and talk about him, that's a bit obsessed.

Especially when they have zero impact on your life.  Our elections dont really effect Brits much. Trump had zero impact on your life. Except to get under your skin, but that's on you.

I can see being interested in the elections of other countries, but going off on diatribes full of insults and name calling is weird.

I mean Putin is an authoritarian, murdering despot. But I'm not going to spend days posting about him.  But the funny thing is, he's more of a threat to you than any of our presidents, especially Trump.

Trump is no threat now - he is fucked.

So Putin will now be so pissed off as his financed puppet has gone.

Donald loved playing with the 'hardnut' big boys and they saw him coming from a mile off - incredibly including the little fat shit Kim Dong Dumb. lol

You really have no idea.  It's not over yet.  Media, as you keep being told, do not get to make the call

This is what's messed up You cannot see anything the media does as wrong. The media lies and lies about Trump and most people are way too stupid to look for themselves they censer the president of the united states and you believe they are right to do that.  That's what is so fucked up You don't even care about the irregularities as long as Trump goes.  That's how brainwashed and hate-filled you are

I don't worship Trump, but know if Biden/harris gets in America is truly fucked.

Media has not told him to worry about Putin at this time.  Media only talks about the orange one at the moment.
