I did not mind him until he met her - what rather thick entitled people like them both don't seem to understand it that the UK is one of the least racist countries in the world, we bend over backwards in that regard.

Positive discrimination, quota systems etc which means that often a more qualified person is overlooked because they are white/straight/male.

We are nothing like the US and it's history which is why all this BLM and woke virtue signalling shit here is laughable and just creates resentment.

No, we're not like America, thank God.   Their history of lynching black people is fucking ghastly.

You don't think black people were killed and hanged by the British in Africa, for not behaving well?

How about India.

Who invented the concentration camp?

This is not to bash the Brits, because no society will be judged well when viewed through a contemporary lens. That's called presentism, and it's not fair to the people of that time.

American, British, Japanese, Dutch, Spanish or French.

Heck, most slaves brought to the new world wound up in Portugal's colony called Brazil.

If the UK was lynching black men as late as 1981 you might have a point.    The States does have a ghastly record for lynching.  No matter how much you try to deflect.

Nope, just a few racist yobs.

It's way overplayed anyway.

Plenty of white kids have been murdered by gangs of teens of various ethnic minorities but without the publicity in the UK.

Scum is scum.

Poor little 15 year old Kriss Donald abducted and taken off the street, driven for 200 miles, beaten to a pulp, tortured, stabbed 13 times, covered in petrol and set on fire whilst still alive by a Muslim gang of sadistic thugs.

Never heard of him?

Of course not, he was white.

If it was white thugs abducting a Muslim lad I doubt anyone in the land would not know his name Syl.

That's how it works.  Whether its Michael Donald or Stephen Lawrence.

Mohammad Sarwar.

A truly wonderful man who put his own life at risk to bring the murderers of young Kriss to justice.

Pakistan has no extradition policy with the UK and after murdering young Kriss his killers fled back to there.

Mo went back and forth lots of times, held lots of meetings and secured a one off deal and the beasts were returned.

The definition of lynching is extrajudicial killing by a group including torture.  Stephen Lawrence's murderers were  two juveniles at the time.  It was a racially motivated murder for sure, but not a lynching in the truest sense.    You can't compare the stabbing of Stephen Lawrence against America's history of stringing up black people, both male and female, and torturing them for hours in front of a baying mob?

You know 10 thousand people turned out to watch the lynching of Jessie Washington in  Texas in 1916.   That poor boy was dragged behind a car, castrated, fingers cut off, ear cut off, burned alive over several hours. Then they professionally photographed it all and sold the pictures as postcards.

In 1919 Henry Lowry had the audacity to ask for his wages, so they burned him at the stake.

I'm not saying Britain doesn't have a past for unlawful executions but whatever has been done here regarding racially motivated killings  is nowhere near as prolific or horrific as  America.

The Mau Mau may disagree with you.  I will concede that race relations in the UK proper have been superior to those in the US.  Until recently the UK didn't have to deal with a myriad of cultures and ethnicities trying to coexist. The Brits kept slavery and other forms of oppression away from the mother country and just practiced it everywhere else.

Where the UK saw problems was in its colonies.

Nothing like Amritsar happened in the UK, but it did in their colonies.

All of the European colonies had issues that the home country didnt have. (Leopold II?)

Even after they gained independence. (Haiti?)
