I do think they shouldn't play them at meal times though...that's a bit off putting.

Who the hell wants to know about Jenny Eclair's dry vag?

As I see it, we women have been dealing with our bodily functions and disfunctions for millennia without the need for commercials to guide us.  Don't ever lose sight of the fact that commercials are money making machinations.   That's all.  They're not trying to help anyone.

For decades women didn't talk openly about their bodily malfunctions. Lots of women suffered in silence, now they dont have to. I doubt our mums generation had friends who talked openly about leaky bladders or dry vaginas, nowadays women openly discuss, and ads just mirror that.

Erectile dysfunction is still pretty taboo, I doubt men bring it up over a pint in the pub, but if say Pele speaks about it on TV, it'll encourage other men to do something about it.

Obviously commercials are there to encourage people to buy, but then so are supermarkets.

Women did  and do talk about their bodily malfunctions though...mostly with each other. That's what we do.  Men don't do that.    It's like a female thing, we share with our close friends etc.  We've always done that.

The next thing will be ads for genital warts and VD.

Yes women do talk now, and because these subjects are out in the open, (and the ads have helped) there is no stigma left...but it was very different a couple of generations ago (pre ads)

There have been ads giving info about VD and Aids, haven't seen any yet for genital warts, but if they do make any I really hope they don't air them at teatime.

Get it off your chest.....Social distancing.

It's really beginning to irk me the way so many people breathe down my neck when I am in a queue. Yesterday I waited 2 metres behind a woman who was disinfecting her basket, my turn came I was disinfecting mine, some idiot women appeared and stood right behind me in her haste to get to the anti bacterial spray.

Why bother following one precaution when you flout the other?

You should have squirted her in the face and cried....Away vile unclean crone....then stepped back to witness the results.

A tad of an over reaction that if you don't mind me saying so.

I gave her a dirty look, though as I had my mask on it probably went unnoticed.snooty

I hope all those who totally ignored and are ignoring the government's advice are very happy, 397 UK deaths in the last 24 hours, God knows how many there will be in a fortnight.

Looks like people are going against advise all across the major Countries of Europe. It's all going crazy both the statistics. And some of the people protests and the like.

Maybe this thing has become even more contagious. That obviously won't help. There is now some belief that is happening.

Yeah as I have said before JP we seem to track very closely with France with a lag of a fortnight, I posed the question what it would be like in another couple of weeks here in another post.

Now we have the answer - 854 deaths in France in one day.

Very grim figures indeed.

I think that's pretty much the highest figure France has had all throughout this.

Still not sure about the tracking. And who is tracking where.

Spain. 238. today. Population 21 million less than us of course.

Italy. 353. 6 million lower population than us.

Germany 149. That's high for them. Pretty sure there all time high was around 250.

Infection rates are interesting. Italy and Spain have risen quickly over very recent times. Italy especially. Now have a higher figure than we've ever had. 28,000. 26,000 is our current peak. France have of course been up to 52,000. Some say that our infection figures are beginning to stabilize. Let's hope so.

ICU numbers are a tad surprising.

Spain 2,754

France 3,878

Italy 2,225

UK 1,075

Germany 2,388

France, Spain, Italy, UK. All seem to be getting hit about equally AGAIN. Although the difference in this wave is that Germany are looking like they could be affected worse for them this time around. More overall death. Higher death rates. And more overall infections.

Actually the above kinda puts to bed the thoughts that the UK apparently had some time to learn from Italy the first time around.

This time all Countries have had time! And, for many it doesn't seem to make too much difference. It's still the same/similar outcomes. This virus clearly for whatever reasons finds much of Europe easy pickings.

Is it coincidental that Asian countries, where people are more controlled by their governments are not seeing the same rise as European countries?

No, plus of course if anyone disobeyed the rules like they have here they would be in danger of arrest or worse in many of the more authoritarian nations.

The best handling of COVID-19 has been by Jacinda Arden in New Zealand.

I'd say no to that. It makes some difference for sure. If we are to take all statistics given out by Countries at face value.

Being free and wild strongly independent minded. Not afraid to question the authorities rules. And to do as you please regardless. Clearly the virus loves that.

If it could speak, it would say go ahead you meet up, have parties. Gather. Go out and about. So I can party!!

She's done really well I'd agree. But New Zealand is very different though in terms of population size. And population density. Compared to much of Europe. That does come into it some.

This virus literally thrives in socialability, the closer people get together the more it thrives.
We have been told for months to limit the people we get close to and to distance from everyone else.

The countries who refuse to do that seem to be the ones where the virus is surging again.

Indeed.

I'm off now. JD if you are watching the US election have the depression tablets handy if Trump wins. And don't party too hard of he loses. We are getting quite old here most of us, you don't want to do yourself an injury. lol

In reality probably won't know much tonight.. Not at least until breakfast our time.

If Trump wins I am going to nail my bollocks to the dining table in disgust! lol
