In the circumstances that's good news.

I thought I was very laid back about the whole affair considering but once the phone call was over I realised how much stress I'd been under!

My muscles were all scrunched up with tension the relief was.... I'm sure you can imagine.

Few wee drams and I'll sleep like a baby goodnight Syl and everyone else.

Sometimes emotions don't really hit us till the drama is over.

Last night Early morning it was snowing like the clappers here, It must have been about 2" around 2am and coming down thick and fast.
8am this morning....it's nearly all gone.
Unfortunately thousands of people had to leave their homes in the night because of flooding or flood warnings. Some people in the GM area have had homes badly flooded 3 times since 2015.

 Yeah it's pretty grim everywhere.

Stone bridges destroyed here that have stood for four hundred years and lakes as far as the eye can see.

I'm amazed I've had no loss of power yet.

Scottish power put new poles in the ground through the summer months as most electricity is overhead supply around North Wales and new trip switches new cables new connections new everything and it seems to be holding up much better.

Flood wise I'm lucky as I live along the side of a mountain range so the rain goes right past us down into the valley but I will not be at all surprised if we don't start getting mudslides soon and that could affect us badly.

When thousands of tons of land start to move it gets dangerous.

There are properties in between me and that possibility how much protection they would afford me I don't know but I had a conversation with the people from one of the properties a couple of years back as I'm not the only one half expecting the land to move sometime and I said I hope your house is strong enough to act as a wall to protect my house and if it does you can kip at my place. Very thoughtful of you he said while he was debating punching me!

I know Wales well as you know.
It has a landscape of it's own, and seeing rows of houses nestled beneath mountains may look like a pic from a storybook, but I doubt they were built all those years ago with extreme weather conditions in mind.

Another thing we remarked on often when out and about, the way houses still stand in front of what looks like slag heaps....never seen that anywhere else but Wales.
And it always brings Aberfan back to mind.

Are you thinking mostly of Blaenau Ffestiniog maybe?

In the picture is a row of houses and a chapel below a mountain of quarry waste there.

Waste slate piled up starting two hundred and fifty years ago all lose.

There is absolutely no way I could sleep at night with that above and behind my house whilst being lashed with rain piled with snow frozen thawing you get the picture.

As you probably know it's not the only row of houses in Wales like that.

It's insane.

Twenty years ago Blaenau was the suicide capital of Europe.

The house prices are still possibly the lowest in Europe I haven't checked.

I nearly bought a house there about twenty years ago four beds one bathroom three down medium slate covered yard at the back bay windowed up and down.

In Bangor in the in need of modernising condition it was in... could have moved in and lived if you didn't want to bother... would have been around a eighty to a hundred grand i similar main road location but the same one in Blaenau was nine grand.

I was tempted to buy it for conversion into three flats.

What put me off was discovering the high suicide rate rate the high alcoholism petrol and glue addiction and the loathing of English landlords.

The petrol and glue use is because people can't afford decent real drugs like weed heroin coke.

I spoke to my bank manager in a casual passing sort of way and she said no way.

Please don't do it and set about telling me a few horror stories.

Anyway I've gone off at a tangent but all of Wales isn't beautiful there's some real fucking misery out there.

Ever been to Colwyn Bay Mountain Zoo?

Small town.

Up town around the zoo you will have noticed some beautiful multimillion pound properties and quite a few at that.

Very sought after area.

Downtown near the shops massive drug problems for forty years in a bedsit land of Scouse and Manc landlords who really don't give a shit.

The people uptown have to have a lot of high tech security to keep the downtown night time folk out.

Ramble ramble goodnight.

Can't insert image I'm sure you'll know which image I would have been posting.

Try it this way>>>> https://www.google.com/search?q=blaenau+ffestiniog&safe=strict&rlz=1C1CHBF_en-GBGB913GB913&sxsrf=ALeKk01GfGRkfNKithvSupwatSnnOqwldw:1611360725560&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjQopu94rDuAhWLilwKHWCKCA8Q_AUoAnoECCEQBA&biw=1920&bih=912#imgrc=WgbXQSSqZvDOHM

We used to just drive sometimes, get lost and end up wherever.
It was obvious real poverty was in some of the most beautiful little towns and villages.

Didn't Jack ban that little bloke for talking about heroin on FH once?
He never came back, though he wasn't much of a loss.

It was a bit more than that he could talk about drugs if he wanted but then he started telling everyone about his cocaine dealing every day.

I asked him numerous times to stop talking about a crime he was currently committing as the forum wasn't the place for it and I felt I had to protect the forum from such stuff. Different if he had been telling people about the past.

He was boasting about being a big cocaine dealer.

I pulled up some posts he'd made a couple of weeks before saying he didn't have to work or sign on because he lived in his mums sheltered housing with her and was paid as her carer.

I said it's pretty obvious your a small time wrap man so quit the bullshit and at the same time I couldn't stop thinking about his frail old mum and how much care he probably wasn't giving her.

He then started sending me PM's to prove he was big time but he didn't realise I knew what I was looking at... around two three hundred quids worth every few days.

He was threatened with a perma if he kept sending me pics and kept talking about dealing.

Within an hour he's telling stories of some of London's top gangsters looking for him because he's failed to pay them for his last bag but he was prepared with daggers axes and other weaponry under his bed and in his mums living room.

I banned him at that point forever and I was thinking more about his mum than a couple of hundred quids worth of coke.

El Grippo or something he was called.

One minute he was a qualified lawyer then he was a top chef then he was a top London villain selling about five hundred quids worth of drugs a week and putting his frail mum in great danger.

Yes his name  was something like El Grippo, and he was an odd little man, even for forums.

He was full of gas and wind, I imagine most of what he wrote about was in his imagination, he was caught out in quite a few fibs.

He called himself El Guapo....claimed he had Italian ancestry, and was a short arse.   I called him the Knee High EyeTie, and he blew a gasket.  I apologised and said from now on  I'll call you, Lautrec, then he blew another gasket.  But what really made him bust his truss was when I cracked a joke about Italian tanks only having one gear...reverse.    And did he have smallest book in the whole world, the Italian Book of War Heroes.   lollollol

He had the hots for Northern, and used to call her 'doll' and 'babe'.   I loved having a ruck with him because he always lost control.

Yes he wasn't the most intelligent of people was he.
I dont really remember much about him. I do remember the Jack thing about the heroin, and I also remember he called me a liar once because I said I made and sold cards, cant remember what I replied but he did apologise for that.
