But no matter how anti-royalist anyone is, no one can deny that the queen has dedicated her life to her position and been a brilliant asset to the country.
She holds little power but huge influence, and obviously, given that she has never stepped down, and she is now 94, she also doubts the crown would be in good hands once she goes.

She has always said its a job for life and abdication is something she would never do.

At the start of her reign she said..."I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.”

She has certainly kept her word.

She has and so has Phil.

Yes....unfortunately for them, the heir to the throne just wasn't trusted.....which is probably why the Queen is still ruling at 94 years old.

It must also be a huge blow to her that the Harry and Meghan interview will still be aired in the US even though Harrys 99 year old grandad is obviouly very ill in hospital.

My take on that is more than she knows how hard it is to do the role, what it did to her father etc, and wanted to spare Charles and the rest of them.   You know Harry banging on about Diana?   Look what the abdication did to the Queen's dad.

Yep, but people were used to biting the bullet and getting on with what they had to in those days. The Royal family did, and the ordinary man and woman in the street did also.

I'm not sure when we turned into a nation of self entitled whingers....it was possibly  the thatcher era,  it seems to go worse as we 'progress'.

Interesting - I can just see her doing this tbh and taking advantage of her new 'status' to bully people out of their jobs.

The put upon saint act does not fool me for one second.

Isn't it old news that she bullied people whilst she was here?
She managed to lose quite a few staff and there was even talk that she made Kate cry over something.....families eh, what can you do?

Several female staff members apparently.   Not sure about Kate...I can't see that happening.   She's a diva....a bit part actress with an ego.  You see it all the time... the..."Do you know who I am?" syndrome.  Who gives a fuck who you are, you're not speaking to me like shit.   That's what I'd have said to her.    She had  a 'diddums' moment when the Queen told her she'd get the tiara chosen for her, not the one she wanted.

I read somewhere she made Kate cry, something over the dresses she wanted the royal children wear at her wedding.
Who knows though....half of it gossip the other half is embroidered truths, as long as it sells magazines it'll be published.

It did seem quite obvious by their body language that the two women didn't get on well though. I think Meghan wanted to be No1, and that was never going to happen.

Yep.  I suspect she thought she might fill Diana's shoes in that she'd be beloved of the people, this amazing woman of colour breaking barriers, the living epitome of sweetness and light, floating through the masses collecting bouquets and looking stunning.  As an actress she most likely  thought she could pull it off.   And I think the majority of us thought she'd be a breath of fresh air.  I know I did.  Then, little by little what she really is came out, because nobody can sustain an act indefinitely.  And I think she's the type that if she doesn't get her own way, there's hell to pay, and she'll do it all with that contrived fake smile on her gob.

What she didn't grasp is that not even Princess Margaret could change the machinations of palace protocol.   So what chance did Me Me Meghan have?  Zilch.  So she played the race card and fucked off back to the land of Mom's Apple Pie where she can fit in like a wiener in a bun with good old Haz providing the mustard.

Whatever.

Quite frankly I am utterly sick of the sight of Ginger and Whinger on the bloody news all the time.

That goes for Wee Jimmy Krankie as well.

I think that sums her up well.

All their public moaning and whinging has finally brought out the bullying accusations. Perhaps they should have just quietly gone to the States, lived away from the glare of the publicity they claim they hate, and got on with their lives. Now this. They are a pair of self serving clowns.

The palace has sat on the bullying accusations for 3 years.
Only now have they decided to do something about it, and it's obviously in retaliation to the Oprah interview.
This family more than most should adhere to the old saying of 'You shouldn't wash your dirty linen in public'.

Has no one learned any lesson since the Diana/Charles/Camilla three in a bed revelations...or more recently that disastrous Andrew interview?
Unfortunately Harry, led by Meghan started this off, and the fallout is proving to be very detrimental to them.

I am sick of Meghan playing the victim - she is now whining about having 'lost so much'!!!

She was a third rate actress and now with all the endorsements and publicity in the US is making a fucking fortune and is more famous than she would ever having been for her dubious 'acting' talents (which seems to have consisted of looking good and woodenly spouting out her lines from the clips I have seen).

'Victim' my arse. bored

Whinging, spoilt little man who is pulled along like a puppy or worn like a handbag by his dominating wife, drags his mum up everytime for pity.
