Cant wait to sit in the gardens of my most favourite local pub next week with family... fab surroundings, great food, great company... just dying for their tower burger and fries, they’re to die for... triple cooked fries and a big fuck off burger approx 6” high! ... a chilled bottle of vino too of course! .... happy freedom folks! X
I know....the simple pleasures in life we took for granted will now seem like huge luxuries.
I think it's going to take time to feel comfortable mixing with others, even when everyone who is willing has had the jab.
The last 14 months, all the deaths and infections, the way we have been forced to live, cut off from family and friends, has left it's mark on people, it wont be that easy to slip back into the way we lived pre Covid.
I am going out to the shops and the garden centres, come Monday (weather permitting) I will be sat out somewhere having a celebratory drink of something, but if anyone gets too near me, or coughs near me, I doubt i won't feel just a bit anxious.

You are braver than me Syl.
Maddog thinks I am a quivering wreck scared to venture out.

Quivering might be a bit much. 😉
Go live your life now. Or at least when they spring you loose.
I think y'all will have the same experience we did. Huge numbers of folks saying it's too soon. But slowly, day by day, more people will be out and acting more like they used to.
The folks screaming that it's too soon will start screaming less and less as their dire predictions don't materialize. 4-5 weeks after the mandates and life will be pretty close to normal..
In a way, we all have some level of PTSD from this nasty virus, so inunderatand how it's rewired our thinking a bit.
Get out there with your chest out, chin up lads and lasses. You're descendants of an empire. Act like it. 😁

We are not allowed to mention that here in case if 'offends' someone somewhere!

People need to be careful. Too soon. Could turn into a somewhat I missed the boat.
Meaning the virus is never going to go completely away. Infections will fluctuate, they will increase, go up and down from time to time. Those more anxious, more vulnerable, need to strike while the going is good. Because when it goes up somewhat. They may get even more anxious again. And lock themselves indoors again. Also folks need to try and bear in mind when infections do go up some next time around it should lead to far less severe illness and death. It's never going to be risk free. What in life is.
Vaccines and treatments are here. They will get even better. But overall can't do much more now in terms of trying to control covid. We've just gotta learn to live alongside this thing sooner rather than later now. After all we all play a considered game of risk one way or another every single day of our lives.

You cheeky sod.
I'm giving you a pep talk. I used to coach a lot when my kids played sports.
I still got it. Now get out on the pitch and kick covid's ass. 😁
I am, from today, none essential shops are opening again, pubs, cafes, restaurants can open and serve outdoors, hairdressers are also reopening today.
I will be out, as I have been for weeks, I am not a hermit you know.
I know one thing, the people who queued up for a drink in the freezing cold at one minute past midnight this morning, only to sit out and suffer from hypothermia, must have been really desperate to get back into the land of the living.

Bloody pathetic - I hope they were keeping to the 2 meters!

I should think they will need to huddle close together to save them dying from the cold....we had snow here yesterday, this morning it was below freezing.
