Quantity is very different to quality. You can keep your 100 million songs, they probably all sound the same anyway if they are country...I will keep my carefully collected over the years CD's...and enjoy my music that way.
There's a current trend in audiophile circles back towards portable CD players. It isn't purely nostalgia but because the sound quality is better. With streaming you have to take an analogue signal, convert it to digital and then compress it. There are various workarounds to get the audio quality back up but isn't quite the same.
I use streaming when I am out and about but at home I prefer vinyl or CDs. It's a nice experience to turn the lights low, put on a record and enjoy an album while drinking a glass of whisky or two.

Yeah, the vinyl is definitely making a comeback.
I just can't carry too many albums out and about..😎

I think the inconvenience is the point when it comes to portable CD players at least. It forces you to be more discriminating in the music you carry around with you and curate it to some degree. Streaming is convenient but everything ends up being a "greatest hits" album as you tend to keep listening to popular songs only rather than exploring the full range available/

Buffet v tasting menu...
That's why I mix in "discovery mixes' into the mix.
The algorithms throw things at me I'd never get exposed to from artists I've never heard of..

Could you dance, or was it one when you just sat around and listened?
There were some dancers, but this location is more of a music venue where folks listen..
Did you enjoy it?
We went to one last Sunday, good food and drink, a guitarist and singer, they are usually outside in the seating area but it was cold, so they came in....no dancing though.

Yes, this was a full band performance..While I enjoy acoustic sets the sound of a full band has a different energy.
