The frightening situation in India should have us worrying a little bit.

We knew what was happening there but only closed down flights a few days ago.

For fifty years there has been a huge toing and froing between India Pakistan and the UK and it has been allowed to continue till quite recently.

Insane.

Along with Covid is the polio threat but our government allowed entry to carry on.

I think what we have seen so far may well turn out to be bugger all compared with what's coming.

We could have so easily along with the lock down restrictions stopped all these incoming flights of thousands of people.

We didn't so now we have to accept a massive increased risk of rampant disease.

Take care.

I think by far the biggest mistake this government has made is the lax way they have treated our border control.
Hopefully the vaccination uptake will be able to deal with the newer variants that are still getting in here and multiplying.

Boris Johnson is hopeless and there is plenty of support for the claim that he is a political opportunist.  At the last election it was a choice between Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn - the political opportunist versus the university drop out and dosser.  Both are serial shaggers - shagging everyone around  them.  That is the quality of your political leaders.  No wonder Britain is falling apart.

Also humongous numbers of testing are really helping to deal with any outbreaks. Quick mass testing. SA variant has been in this Country a good while now, as has the P1 Brazilian variant a little while. Overall community spread has been very minimal. Numbers haven't rose quickly.

Yes some say that the lateral flow tests are not accurate enough. But they do help find many positives that you wouldn't otherwise. Over one million tests are done almost every day here now, at times 1.3 million.

As for borders. Been there done that a few times. That more complex issue than some may realise we will never agree on.

No we wont agree on some aspects.
We can agree though that the vaccination programme has been a brilliant success.

The government has also secured 60 million doses for booster jabs come Autumn.
