Is this fair on her fellow Olympic competitors?

I don't think it is and Morgan is right about this particular topic.

Crazy. She may be a woman now, but she has the muscle tone and strength of the male she was for 35 years.
This ridiculous ruling is a huge setback for all women in sport. What's the point of dedicating your life to be the best in your chosen sport, if at the end of it you could be competing against women who were recently men?

In a nutshell Syl.

It is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion.

But of course anyone who disagrees with this is 'Transphobic'. bored

She's only 100 percent a woman in her head.   You can't really eradicate the male physiology with surgery.   So, while she could be the most feminine woman mentally and emotionally, her body will always have male traits.

All this change from male to women and vice versa is obscene. You are how you're made.

I have real sympathy for people who feel they have been born into the wrong body.
I don't agree with the trend of going along with very young children that they can change sex if they want, sometimes I think a form of brainwashing goes on by adults who should know better.

When the time is right, i.e. when they are adults, they should be given all the help they need.

However, giving them the chance to become male to female, or vice versa, obviously rules out certain things they may have chosen to do previously.

Being disallowed to compete in sport against naturally born women is a small price to pay I would have thought.

I don't think it's obscene.  It must be really difficult to be female inside but male outside, and vice versa, and that's a journey that can only be appreciated by those walking it.   I have a lot of respect for trans people who have the courage to go ahead with all that radical surgery and ridicule.   But it's silly to expect them to compete fairly when it comes to a physical sport.  That's not fair.

Exactly that ^^ It’s not ‘obscene’ to have the courage to strive to live life feeling comfortable in your own skin & as the person you want to be. Provided someone’s chosen lifestyle causes no harm to others, then who are we to judge?

But people often have to make hard choices that result in having to set aside certain wishes/ambitions for the greater good in their lives. Laurel Hubbard should not be competing in this instance, for obvious reasons. And just like the rest of us, she should accept that she can’t have everything in life.

This.

I also feel that this should happen with organised religion as well although it never will because few adults who would see of how ludicrous it all is would actually join a faith if they actually read their horrific Holy books and not the sanitised versions usually trotted out by their defenders.

It will never happen religious institutions know they have to get to the child very early and brainwash them before they are capable of making an informed decision, just like all the generations before them.

Just look at the Madrassas in Pakistan for example - or the Catholics Church in Ireland until very recently when Priests and Nuns were virtually untouchable no matter what crimes they committed - the poor kids don't/didn't stand a chance, there is a very good reason Theocracies in the modern world are generally utter shitholes.

When people use religion to act out unspeakable crimes, obviouly it's used as a shield for evil.

But....countless millions of people find comfort in religion, they use it for good not harm.

If people want to use religion to help themselves and others, as long as they allow others free will to opt in or out, where is the harm in that?

Well I did specify theocracies Syl but even so many people's entire lives are set from the moment they are born - I can't imagine someone from an Evangelical Christian family in the Bible Belt would have much fun admitting they were an atheist.

Also the less said about admitting the above in Islam the better.

We are very lucky here - most of the Church of England clergy probably don't even believe in God! lol

Religion to me is like veganism, if people believe it's good for them, makes them happy, and helps mankind, that's their choice and they are free to make it.....just dont try to foist it on me.

I totally agree Syl.  Live your life the way you want to, don't force others to live their life the same way.

Yes I totally agree Mags but it's such a shame so many in the world don't have a choice to live the way they want to - for example the penalty for leaving Islam in many countries (Apostasy) is death.

Yes that's unfair and so wrong JD. Religion should be a choice, what you believe in, not thrust upon you.

Especially if you are female - what a nightmare it must be in certain Islamic Theocracies to be born a woman with no rights at all. :(
