Organised religions are the most authoritarian institutions in the world - telling people how to behave through fear and brainwashing right from birth.

What about the new Texas Heartbeat Act drafted and approved by far right Christian Republicans like Abbott?

According to him (and others) it's fine to force traumatised young girls who have been raped or suffered incest to have the child.

Not that they gives a shit about either once it is born.

I would say it affects those poor females quite a bit - but that's just me. scratch

I would argue that the UK and Western Europe are a good example of the middle ground.

I'm perfectly happy here thank you MD, we have our faults but at least no-Mega-Churches and sexually perverted/or in denial Televangelist conmen in bad wigs with ten cars and three mansions fleecing millions off the poorest members of their flock whilst preaching controlling far right morality and Creationism.

Religion in mainland UK (but not NI) has largely been reduced to the relatively harmless COE.

 Yep, that's why I urge everyone who is medically able, to get vaccinated, have their boosters, wear a mask in crowded public places, keep their distance, and wash their hands regularly.

It's also why I agree that carers and medics, who may be looking after the old, ill and vulnerable, will either have to get a jab....or get another job,  preferably where they are not a danger to the aforementioned.
