Were these folks helpful to each other?

I'd say yes.

More helpful than the folks who did nothing except possibly judge them.

How many people were killed that night?

63 people lost their lives during the riot, which lasted 6 days.

None can be attributed to the Koreans firing in self defense.

Were the Koreans that rushed into K Town to defend it, helpful?

They were being targeted and attacked because they were Korean, and the police were doing nothing to help them, so they had to defend themselves.

That's a different scenario to the one we have been talking about.

They were targeted because they had property.

They defended that property. Friends came to help them defend that property.

Are you familiar with the property damage in Kenosha from the riots there.   The police were powerless to stop that damage too.

And it's not just white boys and Koreans who will arm themselves to protect communities.

Nobody likes people destroying their neighborhoods.

Some folks, regardless of color, will do something about it.

No, I am not familiar with the riots in kenosha.

I am not saying that people dont always have a right to defend themselves or their property.
I am saying the two riots we were talking about are different.

There was a police presence at the first, none at the second....a particular group of people (korean) were being attacked and not protected in the 2nd riot....that makes all the difference to me.

Nothing you have posted changes my opinion about Kyle RIttenhouse's actions.

 How were the riots different?

Property was being destroyed and the police couldn't protect it.

I have already given my reasons.

Maybe some people believe property is more important than lives. I'm not one of them.

My first comment stands, get properly insured, and if it kicks off, don't inflame a situation by turning up looking like Rambo, leave it up to the authorities to sort out.

If you live in a country where the authorities are turning a blind eye to wanton destruction that's ruining people's livelihoods....you have bigger problems than first thought.

That's exactly what happens in a riot, to some degree.

Authorities hold small areas, and other areas are left to their own to burn.

The cops lose control.

This clears up a lot of what was going on.

I'm not sure how many folks are that interested at this point.

The thing is unlike in the US none of us blokes us are professionally armed or trained so poncing about without weapons like knuckledusters to try to stop a lethal riot would do fuck all.

That is why we pay our taxes in the UK so the police and the army do their job.

Of course if they failed then that is a different matter - but touch wood since the early 20th century they have not.

Unlike the US.

Where were they when the London riots were going on?   Nowhere.  Like all our riots here those rioting are left to it, to loot and destroy peoples businesses.

You cannot debate with our unarmed mentality with a country that allows arms.
