I am not saying that people dont always have a right to defend themselves or their property.
I am saying the two riots we were talking about are different.
There was a police presence at the first, none at the second....a particular group of people (korean) were being attacked and not protected in the 2nd riot....that makes all the difference to me.
Nothing you have posted changes my opinion about Kyle RIttenhouse's actions.

How were the riots different?
Property was being destroyed and the police couldn't protect it.
Maybe some people believe property is more important than lives. I'm not one of them.
My first comment stands, get properly insured, and if it kicks off, don't inflame a situation by turning up looking like Rambo, leave it up to the authorities to sort out.
If you live in a country where the authorities are turning a blind eye to wanton destruction that's ruining people's livelihoods....you have bigger problems than first thought.

That's exactly what happens in a riot, to some degree.
Authorities hold small areas, and other areas are left to their own to burn.
The thing is unlike in the US none of us blokes us are professionally armed or trained so poncing about without weapons like knuckledusters to try to stop a lethal riot would do fuck all.
That is why we pay our taxes in the UK so the police and the army do their job.
Of course if they failed then that is a different matter - but touch wood since the early 20th century they have not.
Unlike the US.

Where were they when the London riots were going on? Nowhere. Like all our riots here those rioting are left to it, to loot and destroy peoples businesses.
You cannot debate with our unarmed mentality with a country that allows arms.
