I would have to have irrefutable proof and not just a suspicion.  In my experience, all advice on this kind of thing is futile.

I would speak to the groom and tell him I know what he is doing, if he does this again, I will tell my friend. It would be a bluff. I would also tell the bridesmaid the same.

I wouldn't tell her because she wouldn't thank me and I don't want to ruin her big day or her life. Once a cheat always a cheat.   All I can do is be there for her if she finds out.

I would probably do exactly the same as you.

Years ago, two of our best mates were getting married. We were driving the groom to the wedding, and he insisted we stop the car and let him out. He just didn't want to go through with the wedding, said it was a big mistake, and tbh, I believe he meant it.

It took us ages to calm him down, we thought he was just having a last minute panic attack.

Eventually, he did go through with it...everyone was waiting at the church, the bride, gorgeous in white, had convinced herself he wasn't going to show, and he almost didn't.

I half expected him to make a run for it from the alter.

Sadly for her, he didn't. She had a couple of years of hell with him, then eventually he left her for a girl he had just met, one of his many one night stands.

Without hesitation, the old lady.

I could quickly get the tel No's of the other two though.

The old lady. I could explain to the others, take lady to hospital, and come back if needs be.

Some of us remember the troll/poster Ty ?
She caused a bit of a commotion once when the hypothetical question was....In a burning building there are two doors. Behind one is your pet dog, behind the other is a child you dont know, you can save only one, which one would you choose?

Obviously Ty chose the dog, but tbh, I think plenty other people would too.
One for Digger and Vita to answer maybe?

My dog is loved as much as any child.   I love my dog.  I'd choose my dog.  I couldn't live knowing I'd turned my back on a living thing that loved me and trusted me.

And if that causes outrage...what if your child and another child were behind those doors which one would you choose?   You'd choose the one you loved.   It pisses me off when people think a beloved pet is less than people.  I don't  believe they are.   They have just as much right to live and be loved and cared for as any other sentient being.

I couldn't choose a dog, no matter howw much I loved it, over a child.
I would always save my own child...I doubt any parent would opt to save a strangers child over their own.

In that case if you're behind one burning door and my cat's behind another I'll save the cat, as presumably you won't mind.

 My dog, without question.

I love my dog as much as I love anyone and she gives me unconditional love in return.

When I was in hospital at the end of last year, Daisy was my main concern.

That's all I wanted to know about when I phoned home, how she was doing.

Not that I nearly died and felt bloody awful and Daisy in turn was pining for me and wouldn't eat or sleep because she didn't understand why I wasn't there.

The welcome I got when I came home was unbelievable.

This was actually part of some questions at a job interview and one man's answers got him the job.

He said "I would give my car keys to my old friend so he could drive the old woman to hospital then I would wait with my perfect woman for the bus"

I understand how powerful the love is between a pet and it's owner.
Years ago I actually fell out of love instantly with a man I was very attached to, he showed no feelings when my beloved dog had to be put down.
In an instant, I knew I couldn't be with someone who didn't understand that kind of love, compassion or empathy.

But, I personally couldn't live with myself if I let a child die because I chose to save an animal, no matter how much I loved it.

If your fractious child was behind one door and your faithful dog was behind another....which one would you save?

If it was my child, yes.    Someone else's kid, probably no.   I'd always choose those I love.

Absolutely not.   Mind you, if you were behind a burning door and a rabid dog was behind the other, I'd definitely go for the dog.

Talking of loyalty and dogs, it was 150 years this month since Greyfriars Bobby died.

There was a special service at his grave.
