Several high profile murderers are appealing or having their  sentences appealed at the High Court.

The hearing started yesterday and a decision is due in weeks.

Emma Tustin who murdered wee Arthur and was given a sentence of 29 years is facing a whole life tariff.

Arthur's father's sentence of 21 years is also being appealed on the grounds it's too lenient.

Wayne Couzins is appealing his whole life tariff for the murder of Sarah Everard on the grounds it's excessive.

Double murderer Ian Stewart and child killer Jordan Monaghan's case's were also heard.

That evil, vile piece of shit, who helped murder baby P is coming out. The parole board never listened to the government who didn't want her released.

She'll get a new identity and get on with her life. Meanwhile baby P has no life! He lived in misery and pain. He had a broken back ffs. No one helped him. Not social services or doctors. That poor baby was so let down and oh how he suffered.

These parole boards must be run by bloody handwringers. They care nothing for the victims, be them babies, kids or adults!😠

We were told when hanging was abolished that life would mean life, now some folk are out in a few years. I do think the threat of the rope would deter people. They say Ted Bundy was dragged to the electric chair.

Not an appeal hearing but another child that's been let down by the legal system. A woman who along with her partner, killed her two year old daughter has been freed from prison...after less than three years.

Wee Lauren was severely malnourished and found riddled with lice and her "mum" is now back on the streets.

Absolutely disgusting.  I'm sick to my stomach of this happening.  Why are kids lives not worth life in prison.  Seems murder a child, come out after couple years, new identity and start again.  Our system needs a good overhaul.  Life must mean til death! 😠

 Some of the sentences are disgusting.

There was a huge outcry in my town years ago when a woman was beaten to death and her attacker was given PROBATION!!

Petitions and what not followed and she was finally jailed but only for four years.

Disgusting it was.

I used to see that woman (the one who was killed) husband about the town.

It was hearbreaking, he just looked so lost and devastated.

Fury as rapists escape punishment if they apologise with over 800 let off (thesun.co.uk)

This 'Apologise' and you can go free scheme was supposed to be applied to low level crime but it's now being used for rape, flashing and child grooming by some police forces.

"Home Office figures show seven rape cases - five involving children - were dealt with using community resolution since 2020.

In total, there were 414 sexual assaults - 349 on girls and women - and 23 cases of grooming wound down in the same way."

Community resolution = apologising.

What an absolute farce.

 It's  a disgusting system, not meant for serious crimes....but that's British justice for you nowadays.

Cosset the criminal at the expense of the victims.
