I'd much rather be here for that kind of weather.  Our infrastructure can handle a few days of that.

 

Don't know what kind of temps you're going to have at night. That's the worst part. When it's over 90° at 11pm and folks don't have AC..

 

Hot weather isn't as bad in drier climates as it cools off quickly at night, giving you a break. 

 

Back in the old days here, folks slept on porches and balconies when it was hot.

The heatwave hasn't arrived yet, but we are already being told many trains wont be running.
I guess it's the equivalent of the odd snowfall in winter, when the whole country grinds to a halt.

We are really useless at handling anything out of the norm here.
I expect a hosepipe ban will be on the cards soon.bored

 Technology has made us far more dependent.  But it's also made.our lives so much better, until the weather decides to break that technology.

 

We build systems to handle 999 out of 1000 days in terms of weather..

 

That one day is just something that must be endured,  because the cost of building infrastructure to handle that one day too, would be astronomical..

It's cooled down to 25c, just sat out, watching the bats swoop overhead.
There is a nice breeze, but I think it's going to be too warm tonight for a lot of people to be able to sleep..

 25 is what my AC is set at right now. 

 

Of course I'm not home, so it's fine. 23 is about what I keep it at when I'm home.

It's starting to get very warm here already, it could be the hottest Fair Monday ever.

It's the Fair Fortnight just now and although it's not as big as it used to be, a lot of places still close on Fair Friday and/or Fair Monday.

Cambridge has recorded a temperature of 36c at 1pm, so the UK is closing in on it's highest ever temperature of 38.7c which was set in the same city in July 2019

Nope...I always turn my heating off when the temp tops 30.

It's coming to an end tonightcry,,,probably be back to the usual grey skies again in a day or two. Hope all the moaners will be happy thenbored
