I bought the Satanic Verses a while ago and it was a tough read because it was written in the James Joycean style of near impenetrability (think Ulyses and think Finnegan Wake). I barely was able to find the sections that some people found offensive - I have NOT followed who and how the book was found to be offensive - but I suppose the title gives an indication of it. In some contemporary writings there are some accounts of Muhammad having changed his mind over a set of verses he gave as being from the angel Gabriel and saying later that it was satan that tricked him. These verses never made it into the Quran but some use this story to suggest that the Prophet Muhammad was fallible. Muhammad did exist and has a biography / biographies and was responsible for changing history during his lifetime.
Anyway I gave the book away to a charity shop and then realising that I lived in an area where there is a high percentage of Muslims I asked the charity shop staff if they were able to accept it and sell it on. The person said they weren't sure but would seek advice but allowed me to leave it with them.
She's an autistic girl being used by adults to further an agenda.
When you can't get people to latch on to your beliefs, drag out the children, put words in their mouths and hide behind them.
Nearly. You don't put words in childrens mouths, you scare them to death and tell them a story. They then repeat that story and the western media and western politicians who want to get elected on that sort of narrative make use of it.
I should add that it is the same with adults as well - they are scared into believing a narrative and then become an activist that fully goes with the narrative. Also this type of thing creates division among people. It is similar to how religion works - people adopting beliefs based on faith - rather than first principles understanding.
