There was a scandal in my neck of the woods years ago involving nepotism etc, but that was Labour.

That doesn't surprise me tbh.

Years ago, when I was returning to work after bringing my son up, a friend, who worked for the council, said he could supply me with a list of council jobs that would be coming vacant shortly.

The list he gave me had more than 50% crossed off. He told me they had to be advertised legally, but not to bother applying for those jobs because they already had someone earmarked for the job.

How very woke....

Been to a quaint little village today, one of the antique shops there is owned by a quite eccentric elderly man.
He chats to everyone, has funny little plaques dotted around his shop.

As he has lots of antiques on show, and to remind parents to look after their kids in his shop, he always had a notice up saying "UNSUPERVISED CHILDREN WILL BE SOLD AS SLAVES" He told us today that he had been reported and was told to take the notice down immediately.

Apparently he was removed, he didn't leave and he's now taking legal action.

Why do some people think that being equal means being the same?
Men don't have periods, they have no idea of what living half your life bleeding every month entails.

It is not his fault that he was appointed to the job position. Similarly it is not his fault that he was sacked less than a month into his job. The reason why the people that appointed him sacked him was because of the criticism they received on social media. He will win his case and they will either have to re-employ him or they will have to pay out his contract plus pay damages for the damage to his reputation.
