My  grandchildren all passed their exams and can now go to the college of their choice and pursue the careers they have chosen.  One had to resit Maths and passed well this time, she's happy. I'm so proud of them.  Only one to go next year for exams.  I'm very happy, had to share.  happyhappy

It's a stressful time for kids nowadays, I don't think we had half as much worry about exams back in the day.

 No we didn't Syl.

We could also just walk into to a job when leaving school if you had good grades or not.   No way can that happen today.

No it cant. Kids cant leave school at 15 or 16 and work full time like we did.

Unless they are in an apprenticeship, they have to stay in education till they are 18, and only work part time....which is ridiculous really.

Some kids cant wait to leave and just want to start working full time.

In the UK to join the police you need a university degree or to gain a university degree while serving an apprenticeship.   Again you need a university degree to become a nurse in the UK - a "registered" nurse.   An "associate" nurse does not require a degree.  In order to prop up the further and higher education systems in the UK more and more basic jobs require higher level qualifications.
