I read she had bone cancer in the last year of her life.
She must have been in real pain, yet she made appearances at her jubilee, carried out engagements, and even did that great little cameo with Paddington bear. Just a few days before her death, she welcomed a news PM.

A dedicated and brave lady till the very end.

She was Syl. That's why she was so loved by the people.  She was a true queen  and devoted to her people.   I loved that little cameo with Paddington Bear, brilliant.

I have never been a royalist, I think they have always had too many hangers on....too much wealth spread between so few, so many privileges for so many unworthy ones.

I liked Diana and I respected the queen, especially as she aged. Personally, when the queen died, I wouldn't have been sad to see the whole family step down, it wont work like that though.

I miss her. She's always been there. Crowned when I was born 70 years on the throne.

God bless our queen 👑

It was a sad day when she went.  The year has flown by.   Me and hubbie were sitting watching the news when it came on and I burst into tears.   I was like....where did that come from?   But the truth is she'd always been there, all our lives, and was the nation's mother and grandma.   She'd outlived my mother, it was almost as though you'd never think she'd die.

Exactly, she seemed to go on and on.  We were so lucky to have known her as our queen, her like will never be seen again.

And that's why the nation mourned so much.   When she died she took the Great out of Britain.

If the monarchy are to remain in their position here, we need a young ruler.

The Queen was only 25 when she acceded the throne, William is already 41, so if Charles lives as long as his parents, William will be an OAP before he gets the crown.
I think many would be relieved if Charles stepped down, and took his 'queen' with him.

I don't know what it is with these kind of people.

Vanity?

Charles could retire into wealth and luxury and enjoy some freedom with Camilla.

I think William will be the more popular monarch.   I hope Charles steps down within the next few years.

I think Charles is entitled to be King, he waited long time.  Maybe in five yrs he can step down, but if not and he lives another 20 yrs like his mum, maybe skip William and go straight to Georgie boy.

He had a pretty good life whilst he was waiting, to step into any job when you are 75, which is years past retirement age, is daft imo.

William would be a popular king, Kate would be a worthy Queen....unlike the one we have had foisted on us at present.
