A fish and chip shop owner who celebrated the Queen's death with a bottle of champagne, shouting 'Lizard Liz is dead' has had her restaurant windows pelted with eggs and ketchup.
Police escorted Jaki Pickett, who runs Jaki's Fish and Chip Shop in Muir of Ord, Highlands in Scotland, from her business after people vandalised the shop front after she held up a chalkboard that read 'London Bridge has fallen' with a smiley face.
She posted the now-deleted clip of her happily celebrating the Queen's death on Facebook, but it caused huge outrage with locals who blasted Ms Pickett for disrespecting the late monarch.
Police Scotland were called after the shop on Thursday evening after it was targeted by angry residents in Muir of Ord who egged the windows.
Pictures showed broken eggshells on the ground and egg mess over the shop windows this morning, while ketchup was splattered on a bench.
Videos circulating on social media show residents surrounding the restaurant on Thursday evening, where owner Ms Pickett was seen driving away from the area with a police escort while locals booed her for her shameless Facebook post.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'Shortly after 8.30pm on Thursday, 8 September officers attended at a business in the Seaforth Road area of Muir of Ord following a report of a large crowd gathered in the area.
'Officers remained at the scene to ensure the safety of all present and the group subsequently dispersed peacefully.
'No further police action has been required.'
David Mackay, 27, from Muir of Ord said he was angered by the post. He said: 'The comments on her Facebook page were disgusted and against her, quite rightly so.
Variously I have seen the British Empire and the Queens generation constantly attacked for being all sorts of things that include racist, imperialist, nationalistic, prejudiced, unconsciously biased. There is just too much hypocrisy especially from the media and from many social commentators and "experts". Princess Diana was often presented as a victim of the Monarchy especially the queen. I haven't been following the Harry and Meghan saga but I have seen headlines suggesting more of the same.
Her shop windows were smashed at the weekend and she's still in hiding.
Locals have said they'll run her out of town, maybe she'll bugger off back to Germany where she was born.
There is a time for venting feelings and a time to shut your mouth.
Decent people show respect, it's just the right thing to do when a public figure dies. Respect includes keeping quiet, no matter what your personal opinions are.

Exactly.
Whether you are anti-royal or not, the Queen was a much loved woman globally, but more importantly, she was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Their loss is greater than anyone's, and to see people degrading her memory at this time is cruel.

I wonder if she is related to them? I thought the British Monarchy were of German origin; in 1917 they changed their name from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Windsor.

I think some people forget her Majesty was a human being and not just "The Queen"

Rangers will get fined now for singing the National Anthem after being told not too.
Anyway what a wonderful display and a credit to Scotland.
If that was fan organised (rather than club organised) there was a remarkable planning an organization involved - so I assume it must have been club organized.
So the Scumbags Celtic had a minutes applause for Her Majesty today and as soon as it started they held up a banner saying "clap your hands if you hate the Royal Family"
Can I just thank St Mirren for beating them 2-0
😂
