They could only jump the queue because they were allowed to.
.... Why just these two pick out?
Can't bear them, but to sign a petition for them to lose their jobs? That's shocking.
Meanwhile, Beckham is praised for queuing. Why wouldn't he queue, all that camera time, front page as he knew it would be? Let's face it he could have gone in normal clothes and a cap and not drawn attention to himself. but didnt. ....
Bit in bold - I am shocked that David Beckham didn't go in normal clothing. I shall be starting a petition to make known my anger at such shocking apparelic behavior.
They’ve hardly committed a crime FFS… if people don’t like them anyway, they’ll join the witch hunt…. 50k+ signatures to have them fired!!! Fucking Pathetic!!…. what happened to ‘be kind’?….. even IF they did queue jump, so fucking what! They did no more than what hundreds of others did in similar positions!…. Yes, Beckham queued when he didn’t need to…. and it went his way, tons of publicity, hearts, flowers, selfies and fucking donut sharing etc! ……. Get a grip!
I don't really know what is going on, nor the timing of the social media reaction and the statement they released - but they could have said - yes we jumped the queue because of our position or because we knew the right people or we didn't have time to queue because of our work commitments or it was part of our job as reporters.

I agree with you Poca.
They did queue jump, they added nothing to the event, they saw the coffin, were sad, paid their respects, and went on camera to say so....like hundreds of other mourners....difference being they did it without a 16 hour wait.
Do they deserve this backlash...do they heck, they haven't murdered anyone.

How would you feel after waiting 16 hours in a queue and then have someone jump in front of you. It's not the point that they made you wait a few extra minutes. It's the fact they didn't wait any of the 16 hours that you did. They didn't freeze their bones in the middle of the night like you did, they didn't shuffle along all through the night without any rest and without any sleep for many many hours. They just appeared. It's wrong and nothing will make it right.

Yes they deserve it. People in the queues shouted out a them for pushing in. Thousands queued for 16 hours, they just swanned in, who do they think they are. Neither one has any talent, get rid of them!

I read 66,000 people had signed the petition, so your opinion is shared by many.
I don't watch morning TV, I have no idea if they are good at their jobs or not, I just think some people have overreacted.
If they were working for ITV and that company wanted to fast track them in....is it really their fault?
People seem so angry lately, I blame the internet....I bet the vast majority of people wouldn't be bothered complaining f they had to actually write a letter, buy a stamp, then post it.
I've never watched it either Syl, can't stand tele especially in the mornings lol. You know, I miss not writing letters, I loved it, better than email imo. More personal eh?
It was said that they supposedly went there to report on it for those people that weren't able to go there themselves.
What exactly did they report?
Even if they didn't queue themselves they could have stopped and chatted to some of the people there, asking where they had come from and what the Queen had meant to them.
From the bit I saw, they just walked in the place, payed their respects and left.

You blame the internet for people being angry? That's a bit weird. So you'd be quite happy for someone jumping in front of a queue you've been in for 16 hours. I imagine you would be just as pleased if someone jumped in front of you at passport control at the airport or when you were on your way to board a bus. Maybe if all the world was as passive as you we would still be living in Hitler's idealogy...
Phillip Schofield: "That's probably got to be one of the most, if not the most profound moment of my life."
Holly Willoughby: "I couldn't agree more"
This was taken from the Telegraph video clip that was in the original post. That clip doesn't help their case because they only talk about their only personal experiences and how very amazing and profound it was for themselves standing alongside the draped coffin and gawping at it. "The most profound moment of my life."
This with the people in the queues observations and aggravation of these two "swanning in" etc makes me think that those that complained have a point. I have already suggested what Phil & Holly could have said afterwards rather than "we would never jump the queue" and I would hope that we now get to hear the views from those that actually witnessed the queue jumping.
Given that these are people on national television broadcasted into the homes of the public on enormous salaries, I think it is only fair that the people have a right to peacefully protest and demand and receive answers. This is not North Korea.
I have to say those defending Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schoffield and then ATTACKING David Beckham for queuing up for 16 hours tells me all I need to know about the strength of their own viewpoint.
I've never watched it either Syl, can't stand tele especially in the mornings lol. You know, I miss not writing letters, I loved it, better than email imo. More personal eh?
Letter writing is a thing of the past now, mores the pity.
It actually took time and effort, not to mention thought. It was a far more civilised way to communicate compared to social media.
If they thought this was going away they have another think coming. It looks like some are determined to pick up on every little thing they can to make them look bad.
I'm not sure it means much really, but thought I would post it anyway.
Plus I would imagine the wheelchair incident was probably a bit over-exaggerated.
REVEALED: Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were NOT on the official guest list to see Queen lying in state amid claims they 'leapfrogged' mourners - but ITV say they WERE invited nonetheless as Queuegate plot thickens
ITV insisted it would not give out the personal contact details of on-screen talent to the Palace of Westminster authorities – and so the email addresses of programme editor Martin Frizell and another member of the production staff, who accompanied them, had been used instead.
