crazy

Virgin Atlantic’s crew, pilots and ground staff can now wear whichever of its uniforms they feel most comfortable in, regardless of the original male or female design of its red skirt suit or burgundy trousers.

The airline has announced a gender identity policy that lets its staff choose which of the Vivienne Westwood-designed outfits they wear to work – “no matter their gender, gender identity or gender expression”.

Virgin said the move was to reflect the diversity of the workforce, and to reinforce its branding campaign as welcoming and inclusive, after recent moves to relax rules on visible tattoos.

The airline will also start using optional pronoun badges for crew and passengers, who can request them at check-in to ensure people use their preferred pronouns. Its ticketing systems will also allow people whose passports have gender neutral markers – available in the US, India and Pakistan – to travel using those gender codes and the title Mx.

This is weird, but I'm sort of OK with it.

Woman wearing pants and a man in a skirt isn't a big deal to me.

The gender neutral shit will cause problems though. Especially for Americans from the south. We say sir and ma'am. We don't have a word for nongendered people.

Guess we can say "thank ya person". 🤷‍♂️

It is weird, but like you, I am OK with it.

However, it could cause embarrassment not knowing how to address someone, but I think that's life nowadays.

I was talking to someone I vaguely know recently, she had her little granddaughter with her, I said how beautiful she was (cos she is) the woman was obviously not happy, she talked over me and said, 'she is very clever'., emphasising the word CLEVER......as if my saying this 3 year old being beautiful was an insult.bored

Silly cow.

Some people seem to be determined to erase real femininity from the planet.

Men look ridiculous in dresses, but if they want to wear one, and if their workplace allows it....no harm done.
But....they are still a man in a frock, no matter which title they prefer to be called.

The fall of the Roman Empire wasn't as perverse.   It is another example of the mass society replacing a civil society which is what you get when a corrupt consumerist based economy is given free reign to maximise extraction of profit.

When you consider the furore involving black face, yellow face, cultural appropriation, blah blah, yet nobody seems to care if a man mimics a woman and turns the feminine into an absolute travesty.   When you get in, say, a drag show, fair enough.  But when it gets cited as the norm for femininity, then it's wrong and undermines and insults womanhood and all we've fought for.

Women fought long and hard for their rights, only to have them taken away again....in completely different areas.
We might not see it, but there will be a backlash one day.
