I suppose everyone likes their era of music, I feel lucky that I had the music from the 60's until the early 90's, after that I began to get left behind.
With a few exceptions the newer music didn't interest me. From Radio 1 on everywhere seemed full of music with groups/bands emerging all over the place, live music everywhere, some good some bad some very good. Now with streaming etc I don't get to hear much 'modern music', what I do hear I'm rarely impressed with. Really don't fancy clubbing these days but I don't suppose many do at my age. I shouldn't say it but I will, no wonder people seem to get a few drinks in them before they go clubbing these days. Apologies to those who like the music!
Wind of change is the kind of song that sums up my pretty naive view of politics even by the beginning of my 4th decade. I thought at last the world was going to come together (Berlin Wall, end of the cold war etc) and make it all better for all of us. Sadly all we had was the Balkans, Iraq and all that. Never mind the music lives on.
I loved the 60's too Vintage....I think when you first discover music, that's the era you appreciate most.
Beatles, Stones, Motown, all stemmed from that time, and that music is still some of the best.
Records like Wind of Change, do sum up memories of what was happening then politically.
Music evokes memories, romantic, wistful, good and bad times....nothing else can transport you back in time like a good song can.
I love 60s and 70s music. I was a teen in late 60s, going to work in mini skirts, hot pants well Into the 70s, with glam n glitter tops etc aswell, loved it!
