I'd forgotten all about Lord Charles.   Ray Alan was an outstanding ventriloquist.

Loved ventriloquist when I was young. Very clever people.

Remember Lenny the Lion aswell.

Old song, new talent.
Olivia Dean on Jool's Holland 'Hootenenny' on New Years Eve....brilliant.

I caught the last half of that show and some of the acts were dire.  Jessie j belted out a good song but Ronnie Wood sounded like an old pub  singer.    It was boring as hell.

I can't stand Ronnie Wood, never could.

Jessie J singing My Way was the best song of the night,  Lulu, who is 77 still sounds good, and Olivia Dean was lovely.

Did you know that the show is not live, it's recorded a couple of weeks prior, clever editing makes it seem like it's done on New Years Eve.

He made great music for decades. I loved this melancholy song he released just a couple of years before he passed.

Always thought he was an odd cat.

I have listened to Major Tom quite a few times though. I'm sure he had quite a few other hits, but I couldn't name any of them..

I do remember Stoo going on when he passed and had you asked me I'd said that was 3-4 years ago, not 10.

Freddy Mercury feels like 10, so I'm guessing it's closer to 20 years for him..

Time passes so quickly, I remember Elton John and Rod Stewart when they were youngsters, and look at them now.

I was listening to a politician this morning, talking about the long term plans for Manchester, and it definitely is a growing city, more now than ever. I was thinking that when some of the projects planned will be completed, I probably won't be around to see them.

A very sobering thought. shock

It's time to consider the type of world we're going to leave to Willie Nelson and Keith Richards..

I've been on iTunes listening to
The Congregation singing Whispering I Love You.

I remember when that came out in 1971, I was young and in love then. This takes me back, even though he broke my heart ❤.

Sadly, even after all this time, I still can't put.up a video. 😞

Could Syl or someone kindly put this up please, thanku.

WE used to go to this little club that was open specifically for club workers in Manchester. It got busy around 2am. They had a jukebox with all the best soul and pop songs playing.

The little dance floor in there was always full...it's where I used to go with my boyfriend, now husband. Happy memories.happy

Happy days.   We went to pubs that had discos, we never drank, just danced.  I wish I could go back sometimes.

Oh to be young, free, and happy.

I played that Softly Whispering I Love You to my husband

I said do you remember this he said yes but not that version. I got it wrong, I didn't like that blokes voice either, he said it was Mike Curb singers. There also was an original version 67 I think, man duo. I looked it up.

All them dancing looked so laughable, like they had St. Vitis dance! 😂
