I think the internet has shown many a man's true face.
For some, the forum is the mask.
I always think internet horrors are horrible people whether they be online or off.
They can't be decent people, then just change into twats just because they can get away with it because they are incognito.
I think they're cowards. They wouldn't say nasty things to your face. Easier behind a keyboard. Gutless
Mags it is still a fairly new frontier with contact with endless unknown faceless mostly emotionless interaction that is now slowly coming under some semblance of normality.
As I said elsewhere dogs to be fair was set up as a bitching forum which to be honest was something completely new to me but it was obvious it was going to be hard hitting.
My first experiences on the internet were why the hell are people telling such personal stuff to total strangers? Then I realised a lot of the these extremely good looking usually quite well off people were full of shit and they were as ordinary and boring as me and most everyone else!
But... it opened up doors of experimentation and laughter.
Like I said for us old hands it is now settling down but if settles down to much it will become a seriously boring pat each other on the back scenario.
Might as well go back to having pen pals.
Any of you ever do that?
I did when I was about ten it lasted about four letters to someone I would never have liked face to face... there's the rub.

Hi Jack
Yes forums when new were probably a good idea. Meeting people, chatting, but then trolls appeared and it became nasty. Some posters were badly bullied. I hated to see that. I prefer it to be as it is now, friendly chat, and not the gutless trolls who thought it funny bullying a poster to tears and make them leave.
Just because a forum is set up as a place to bitch doesn't mean it can devolve into somewhere that interferes with people's private lives. Which perhaps goes to show that human nature being what it is, people love to gloat about the misfortunes of others or cause those misfortunes if they can. Most of us came onto forums without much guile to start with. I had no idea when I mentioned my dancing that it would be taken and pulled inside out and ridiculed and I'd get called a liar and fantasist. And that went on for years not just a few months. But I suppose when you had someone like NS, who created a whole false persona all over social media, and the levels of jealousy festering in the likes of the Odious Claire, then it's not surprising.
It seems the esteemed leader of Dogs is doing his best to stop that heinous behaviour. Whether that's because he knows he can no longer safely behave like that or it's a genuine need to change his cuntishness, who knows. Bit of both I suspect.

Never lose sight of the fact that people can only be bullied off forums if the forum owner allows it. The fish rots from the head. I remember Micky not tolerating that on FH. He was many things but he did keep that forum relatively clean of the likes of the ones allowed free rein on Dogs. Look what happened when Trop/NAA took over. The place fell apart then closed down. And NAA's own forum died a death very early on. They booted off anyone who disagreed with them and allowed the likes of henry/aziz to be nasty to everyone.
@ Diggs… I don’t know much about the Dogs glory days pre-2014.
I mostly found Aziz to be dry-witted, with a verrrry sharp intellect. I can recall his poignant, beautifully crafted posts about terminal illness/death of those in his world. Yeah, he was also a master wind up merchant but I could never sense any real malice behind his antics. Just my opinion…
You‘ll laugh at this next bit…NAA used to trumpet to anyone willing to listen that she had an absolutely infallible ”photographic memory“. She insisted that even the most minor details of forum life were stored for life inside that legendary “photographic memory” of hers. She eventually started getting fancy with me, and of course I gave it right back
She kept accusing me of telling the persona known as StooooooO that I “would always be there“ for him, when he was apparently going through some tough times. I kept denying I had ever posted that to him but, no, NAA’s memory could never falter and, according to her, I was lying. NOTHING would convince her otherwise.
And this is where I have to give kudos to Claire, who eventually stepped up and told NAA that it was her who had said that to the persona known as StoooooO. Absolute stoney silence from NAA after that. Maybe she mooched off to read one of those memory-improving self-help books, who knows …

I still laugh about that to this day
Aziz had many personas. Henry was one of them. Henry hacked Dogs and the persona known as Stooo nearly had a fit by all accounts. Henry/aziz also got let into the FH admin area by Ali, copied private conversations and posted them other forums.
Do you remember when NAA had a meltdown on Dogs because she thought the Russians were spying on them? Perhaps she thought they might access her reams of grabs and personal info harvested off various forums.

NAA was often stropping about something or other - she worked hard at bolstering her upfront, straight-shooting ‘toughie’ rep, and posts peppered with f-bombs and c-bombs all over the shop.
Imagine my amazement when I heard her speak on that Vocaroo thread - a very posh accent and a breathy, tinkling, softly-spoken voice, just like one of those delicate, nervy virgins you see in a Victorian period drama! She really was beautifully spoken, tbf, but I still nearly fell off the couch laughing …

Yeah, we all did. She was all Violet Elizabeth when she should have been Arthur Mullard
Some of the most outrageously yet funny things were said as insults to people on these forums. I remember Minge/teddy complaining in the chats one night that someone had called him a hunchbacked freak who had to pay rentboys for sex. Then there was Canny who had a repertoire worthy of a whole stadium of Tourettes sufferers. Classics like "Suck my bumhole, fuckface, you fucking mofo retard!" She could have made a fortune selling those legends on T shirts on Ebay. There's some guy selling candles on Etsy with labels very similar and he's a best seller.

Canny! You missed your vocation!!
Yet she run her own forum like Mary Poppins.
I know And she never used bad language or felt the need to and never got involved in forum rucks! You gotta love her though. She's a forum legend.
Her motto or forum signature should be ...... n'er a fuck between the lip and the cup
