What in the hell are we shooting down?

Unlike a balloon shot down off the coast of South Carolina Feb. 4, described by officials as spy aircraft, it's unclear how the most recent objects stay aloft and move along, Gen. Glen VanHerck, commander of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and the U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), said at a media briefing Sunday.

"I’m not going to categorize them as balloons," he said. "We’re calling them objects for a reason. I'm not able to categorize how they stay aloft."

After the briefing, a defense official added that there was “no indication of aliens or extraterrestrial activity with these recent takedowns.”

Earlier, when asked about that possibility, VanHerck had declined to rule it out. “I’ll let the intel community and the counterintelligence community figure that out," he said.

An unidentified object shot down Sunday over Lake Huron — the fourth flying object in less than two weeks to have been downed over North American airspace — was described earlier Sunday by a senior administration official as an octagonal structure with strings hanging off but no discernible payload.

Officially anyway, we don't know what they are or how they stay aloft.

That explains the balloon. But the last 3 aren't balloons.

Usually when our government doesn't know what something is, they tend to pretend that they do, to indicate there is nothing to worry about and it's under control.

It's odd for them to say "we don't know what something is, or who made it.

While I think it's earth made, I wonder which tribe of earthlings are making these mysterious flying machines.

China seems to be the most likely culprit.  And how are things things evading our radar?

After more reading, the first two seem to be called balloons. The next two are being called objects.

What ever they are they seem to be getting well within our airspace before we see them.

Ok..I’m seeing a great big gaping rabbit hole that‘s luring me in hiding And I’m sure Maddog is likely gonna shoot my tin foil hat right off my head.

BUT…I can’t help wondering whether there might be any correlation at all between all the classified intel Mango Mussolini is/was so desperate to hang onto, and the sudden emergence of all these (what I suspect to be) intelligence-gathering balloons/flying objects.

If he had taken those documents and ran off to another  country with them, I could see some sort of tie in.

But we got them back.

And our intelligence folks knew what Trump had. They have no idea what these flying machines are.

Or so they say.

 Maybe.

I'm not real impressed with Russian technology though.

The Chinese are crafty little fuckers that are far more technologically advanced than team Vlad.

Luckily, they didn't try to shoot it through the windshield.

The Chinese just like Russia and the west have satellites that can read the names on tomb stones so they really don't need low flying objects or flying bubble cars to spy on anyone or anything.

The latest spy drones mostly for spying on your own people have cameras on the top surface filming the sky above them and LED displays on the underside showing what the camera is seeing thereby making these things almost invisible.

Flying objects and foreign balloons to spy make no sense whatsoever.

So clue

You seriously underestimate the Russians probably because of the mass propaganda you've been buried under since WW2.

America have been buying heavy lift rockets off Russia for years because America have not been able to make them of such good reliable quality at such a low price and anywhere near as quickly.

Russia have now stopped sending rocket engines to America for now... at least in a friendly manner.

Remember you have had to follow Russia in things nuclear medical space all of your life and more besides landing on the moon that is.

All this Ukraine nonsense... look at a map and see that Russia have taken the Russian speaking Russian east of Ukraine which was the aim but the news avoid talking about that and concentrate on their failings to keep it for themselves and as long as the west keep arming Ukraine then the war will drag on and on till everyone there is dead and no stone will be left on top of another.

Russia should have taken Kiev within weeks of the invasion with minimal loss of Russian life.

Tell me how much Russian made technology you have around your house.

Vodka doesn't count. 😉

Also, we have a certain African American slinging shit into space from south Texas without the need for Russian rockets.

There's nothing special about their rockets and we stopped buying them months ago.

Lockheed Martin can make rockets just as well. Maybe they cost us a little more. 🤷‍♂️

We're Americans. We just print more money when we need it. 😉

 Madds stop getting hormonal.

I have no Russian goods at home and not much more American.

Everyone knows Russia are not a manufacturing nation beyond military and space hardware.

What that has to do with my answer to you I don't know.

You said you don't trust their technology I answered by pointing out that your country have been relying on their technology for years which they have when it comes to large rocket engines so their technology can be pretty good as your nation has proved.

Elon Musk may well be your saviour ahead of the usual defence companies.

As for taking Kyev I seem to recall the same conversations about Viet Nam Afghanistan Iraq I'm sure you remember those events.

Remember the massive war crimes of shock and awe whilst destroying a civilian capital city the size of London? None of which has bugger all to do with me answering your simple statement of you not having much faith in their technology.

Please don't start sounding like the persona known as Stooo!

We're not  relying on Russian technology, just cheaper labor and costs. The Chinese create technology (and steal it). They are a much bigger threat to us than an overgrown 3rd world country that is getting embarrassed by their neighbor.

Did the US have trouble keeping troops in the capitals of S Vietnam, Iraq or Afghanistan?

Just stop it. You're off on one of your tangents again. 🙄
