The Spanish - especially in the arse-end-of-beyond rural areas - are notorious for mistreating their animals. I won’t get into some of their depraved cruelty, when their hunting dogs/horses outlive their usefulness.

But this latest furore all seems to be down to confusion over the modification to the wording in existing legislation. Won’t bore you with too many details, or we’ll be here all day! Plus, I don’t know how to do links on here.

I‘ll just C&P this for now …

“All sexual acts with animals will be punishable. In the event that they produce injuries, they will be considered crimes; in the rest – less serious offences – they will be classified as abuse without visible signs of injury (maltrato de obra)”, representatives of Ione Belarra’s ministry told El Diario.“

Too late. This mama deer wandered too close to me a month or so ago and wound up in my cast iron pan tonight. 

 

Admittedly, there was no touching or fondling prior to her getting harvested. I'm a caveman, not a weirdo..20230222_195537.jpg

 I've never had venison...never fancied it.

 It's a bit like lamb. 

 

It's far better for you than beef. 

 

I wish I could harvest about 5 a year (technically I can, it's complicated) and I would almost never eat beef.

 

Even now I only eat beef once or twice a month.
