The virus which drove the Covid-19 pandemic most likely emerged from a laboratory leak but not as part of a weapons program, according to an updated and classified 2021 US energy department study provided to the White House and senior American lawmakers, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday.
Rep. Seth Molten (D-Mass.) said on Sunday that he was “not entirely surprised” by the Energy Department’s reported determination that a lab leak likely caused the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I’m not entirely surprised,” Moulton told CNN’s Jim Acosta on Sunday. “The Chinese have mishandled COVID at every step of the way, are trying to sweep it under the rug, trying to try a strategy of zero covid that utterly failed. And tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of Chinese are dead as a result of the mismanagement of this pandemic by the Chinese Communist Party.”
The Lancet medical journal this month published a review of 65 studies that concluded prior infection with Covid—i.e., natural immunity—is at least as protective as two doses of mRNA vaccines. The most surprising news was that the study made the mainstream press.

Some people were convinced of that from the start.
This would have meant survival of the fittest though, the old, weak and ill, possibly would not have survived, the young and healthy probably would have shaken it off like a dose of flu.
I suppose it depends where you are on the health scale whether you think that would have been the way to tackle the pandemic.
Why are you shocked. A lot of us have said this from the get go. It's obvious it's not come from a wet market. You have to ask yourself why this virus had HIV mixed in with it, a known destroyer of the immune system. This was an engineered virus.

It is nice that years after many claimed otherwise, we are starting to get some truth..
I think most open minded people at least thought it was a.hell of a coincidence that ground zero was near a lab that fucked around with these viruses and had issues in the past..

The vaccines were necessary but shouldn't have been basically mandatory, especially for people that already had it.
The amount of anger directed at people for not getting it was out of line in many countries.
It was shameful.
And now the western world has run away inflation, less trust and more division and the virus is still out there infecting and killing..
The Swedes always had the best approach. They took it seriously but didn't overreact.

In retrospect, I think I agree with you....in part.
My stance at the time was, so many people were not that ill with Covid, so they carried on mixing, infecting others, which was one reason why it spread so rapidly.
Whilst that did boost the immunity of millions, it also killed millions. I did, and still do think carers and hospital workers should have had the vaccination, unless they were exempt for some reason.
If people had already been infected, they didn't need to be vaccinated. I don't think anyone should have been forced, but at the time, in view of the thousands that were dying daily, I do agree with the consequences some faced if they refused.

It spread so rapidly, even after the vaccines came out because it could evade them.
Granted, I believe the vaccines decreased the severity of the infection, but they didn't prevent it..
That's why we still have covid 3 years after it started and 2 years after the vaccines were released.
You can't hold the position that the vaccines worked well enough to prevent infection, while saying you needed others to get vaccinated to protect you.
That was the problem I had with the hate, vitriol and government oppression directed at people who chose not to get the shot.
The vaccines worked well enough to lessen the severity and to control the spread eventually...it took time obviously.
I believe if the vaccine hadn't been rolled out, millions more would have died worldwide.
It decreased the severity. There is no proof that the vaccines stopped transmission once the virus began to change.
That was the mantra they used to shame people into getting it.
They claimed person A was helping person B by getting the vaccine. In reality person A was only helping person A.
And of course now they have backtracked on masks. Properly worn N95s work. The menagerie of shit we had on our faces were largely ineffective.
If person A didn't catch the virus, he couldn't pass it on to person B...so the fewer people who caught a very infectious virus the better.
We in the UK were first told wearing masks could be more of a hindrance than a help...then suddenly it was compulsory.
I think it stands to reason if you are the one with the virus, be it Covid or a common cold, the less you cough, sneeze and breathe on people the better....so, I do think mask wearing contains germs, IF the one spreading them is wearing a mask.
it's still expected here in NHS hospitals for staff and patients to wear a mask.

But the vaccines only decrease the negative effects of the virus, they don't prevent you from catching it. That's why they are really a therapeutic and not what we consider vaccines of our youth. Millions of vaccinated Americans didn't catch a mild form of polio after vaccination. Millions of vaccinated Americans did catch covid and infected other Americans both vaccinated and unvaccinated..
So person A was just as likely to catch the virus, but hopefully a much more mild form.
And staff and probably patients in hospitals are likely wearing N95s, not just some piece of cloth made in China.
