"The title of Queen Camilla has not always been a fait accompli: when the Prince of Wales married Camilla Parker Bowles in 2005, it was initially made known that when he ascended to the throne, she would not take on the title of Queen Consort, instead being known as the Princess Consort. In 2020, Clarence House reaffirmed this: ‘The intention is for the Duchess to be known as Princess Consort when the Prince accedes to the throne. This was announced at the time of the marriage and there has been absolutely no change at all.’
"In February 2022, the late Queen Elizabeth II released a letter to mark the 70th anniversary of her accession. Part of this read, ‘And when, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service.’
So King Charles, running true to form, has broken his own pledges.
He has also, a scant few months after the Queens death, ruled over her own dying wishes.
They seem to be playing some kind of childish games.
Is it the inbreeding or the sense of entitlement they have?

He never intended to call her Consort. He wanted her as queen from the off, which I don't think people want her to be. I don't think this will go down well. It was bad enough queen consort, but that's what our queen chose, so was accepted. I will never see her as queen.
He has insulted the memory of the queen by going against her wishes.
I believe he intended Camilla to be queen from the moment Diana died. I wonder how Diana's sons feel....well, we all know how one of them feels about her, William is more restrained, but it cant be easy seeing the woman who ruined their mothers life being hailed as Queen.
I doubt the majority will accept her, but she will be crowned Queen when he is crowned King next month.
There is no choice in the matter..She's a disgusting and
manipulative old dog.
She certainly seems to be manipulating...maybe the royal men need to be told what to do and when, their wives, even when they start off as the bit on the side, always seem to rule the roost.

This could be the start of a downfall for Charles. He decided from the start she was queen. Yes he ignored our real queens wishes, he always was going to. People don't want her as queen. Queen Consort was enough to swallow, but this! Nothing to do with diana, although that wrankles, just don't want her queen!
Nobody will ever replace THE queen. She was our most loved monarch. Charles is trying too hard to be woke and right on and it's doomed to failure because he'll be damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. As for Camilla, she's the woman he's always loved and good luck to her. By all accounts she's a lovely person. What's the point in hanging onto the hatred for what happened all those years ago. People makes mistakes and none of us can help where our hearts lie.
Yes, they were always suited, and they do seem to think the world of each other....good for them.
Unfortunately, he seems to be under the illusion that foisting her as Queen onto the public is a good idea.
It isn't.

Well, tough shit, I suppose. She's going to be Queen and that's that. I have a feeling Charles is sticking to that because he never did the right thing all those years ago and married her instead of Diana.
Could be tough shit for him.
If the public turned against him, or simply lost interest, that could be his downfall.
If it could happen to the queen, when public opinion against her was so strong after Dianas death....it could certainly happen to him.

That's already happened anyway. He's never been that popular, and I think he knows it. I think he'll abdicate in favour of William sooner than people think. Having said that, he's supposed to be incredibly stubborn. I don't think he's good for the monarchy. Anything that was ever good for it, died with Elizabeth. She was the last great monarch.
