The huge variant in temperatures you have are weird.
Ours are more consistent, at least we know which season it is.

 It's common in drier regions.

Even in the summer places in AZ can have 40F changes in a day..

Winter in the north is like you. Temperatures may not change more than a few degrees for several days in a row..

Honestly, though I do love the summer, I think I would prefer to live here than in a place where the weather is so topsy-turvy.
Spring here can be glorious, summers only vary in temp about 8 or 9 degrees from one end to the other...the exception being Scotland in the winter where it can get a lot colder.

The one I have is beaver, but doesn't cover much of my head.

I have plenty of cold weather gear, I still hate the cold weather around here.

That one missed my part of the state.

The next one, which is mostly just arctic air and not really a storm, will be here sometime Saturday..

Stay warm Maddog, those temperatures would be severe even for Manchester, and unheard of in the daytime.

I remember about 32 years ago helping a mate put a new roof on his Granddads garage in Hazel Grove and it was minus 11 all day each day for most of a week and snowing too.

Here today it's 1 degree and blue skies... it's actually a very nice day.

Been snowing for about an hour and sticking... I know some children who will be over the moon if it's there to wake up to!
