The best June we have ever had in my recollection...absolutely the worst July.
Let's hope the summer will return in August.

Now they are saying 110 F today.

Do you know what that feels like?

Unfortunately, I do. 😕

Yes, most Brits go to warmer climes on holiday.

Do you know what it feels like to spend the summer months shivering and dodging thunderstorms?cry

Florida is a warmer clime. I just got back. Never got above 90°.

110 is lethal if you're out in it too long and aren't acclimated.

Those 20 degrees are a big deal.

Yes, it's on the news here about the scorching temperatures in Europe, and the forest fires raging in Turkey, Greece,
and parts of Spain.

Any extreme weather conditions can cause huge problems, I shouldn't moan really.

Yeah, there's a point where humans don't function well. Livestock and wildlife dies. Trees and forests die.

Hot is fine up to about 100 degrees. When you get well above that for extended periods it's lethal to man and beast alike.

I left my daughter's tonight at 10pm.

It was still 100 degrees. That's too fucking hot. Super high temps are more manageable if it's very dry and the nighttime temps drop enough to give everyone a break..

I hate the heat, so I'm happy with the temps here.

There's irritating heat and dangerous heat..

Much like rain.  No one likes getting soaking wet, but it's hardly going to kill you. Rain that turns into flooding is more than irritating. It can kill you.

Weather extremes kill a lot of folks around here.

Much as I moan about the lack of sun in the N/W of England, we are lucky as in we dont get the extremes that so many countries do.
The worst we get ...especially in recent years, are floods, which many blame on global warming.
Personally, I would think the unwise buildings of motorways and housing estates in inappropriate places, preventing the rainfall to drain away naturally is more the cause, but no doubt others will disagree.

Yes, you're weather is dreary, but rarely dangerous. It's wet and often miserable but also fairly predictable.

Places like San Diego have the ideal weather. It will be between 82 and 89F the next 10 days with an odd shower every few days.

Then August will hit and it will be the same thing that entire month.

No tornados. No floods, no hurricanes and no 110 degree days.

Winter in San Diego is awful. Some days it barely hits 70. 😉

Nice and sunny at the moment, I'm just about to take Shorty out.

The park has the most jaggy thistles I've seen in years, I'm going to take a fotie.

Well I'm going to try...

At 6 a.m the fire was lit.
We've let it burn out now as we've reached the dizzy highs of 17!

Raining all day and all tomorrow, so the weekend will be a complete washout here.
No nice weather forecast for all of next week either...I wish we could have just a little bit of the heatwave sweeping Europe,

I was watching some of those JSO loons on Piers' show and they seem to be saying the UK is on fire from all of the heat and lack of rain?

Could they be fibbing?
