He told them going down to see the wreckage of the Titanic was safer than crossing the road.

It's all very morbid though, the Titanic should be left alone not gawped at.

The whole venture was folly. I'm not getting the "They were pioneers of research' bit. That's bollocks. They went down there for the thrill of it.

Of course they did, knowing it wasn't safe either. I'm glad they went quick though, and not suffered.

The people who paid for the trip were assured it was safe, I doubt anyone would risk their lives if they believed they could die in such a horrible way.

They were told by others, but the owner said it was safe, so the believed him, sadly.
