"Instead of the United States, the United Kingdom holds the top spot for American respondents, who viewed their country’s former colonizer with even more admiration than the global set of respondents, with the U.K.’s overall rank improving by eight positions. New Zealand, famed for being picturesque, came in second among U.S. survey-takers, with a six-spot upswing of its own."

The UK is a great place to live....for some anyway.

Personally, I would not choose to live anywhere else.

Honestly...it's only the weather that puts me off the UK.

We Brits moan a lot, and there are no doubt many who struggle, especially if reliant on the NHS...which the majority do, but we take for granted all the great things we have'

Maybe you Americans appreciate those things more than we do.

I think they watch too much TV and are wrapped up in your royal family.

Lol...or it could just be that the wise ones understand that we, and our little old country, are great.

Well, the majority of Americans aren't very wise, so when a majority agree on something, that's not exactly a ringing endorsement..
