 That wasn't my point.

My point was, that you had an immigrant (Ben) who wanted to work and therefore contribute to the system that he was using, but he couldn't.

The system was set up that Ben would be covered by NHS, while being prohibited from paying into it.

Thats not a good way to keep a system well funded.

I misunderstood when you said someone else had to contribute for him.

That's what I was answering but not to worry there was millions of us contributing for him.

I can't limit the amount of imbedded posts on here, so when you see half a dozen replies in the same post make a new one or edit the amount so it doesn't take up a whole page.

The strike ends tomorrow, an awfully long time for people who have entered a profession to help people...to have done the opposite.

I wonder when senior doctors and consultants will be striking for more money again?

If your system is like ours, it's the nurses who are the rock stars anyway.

But it's troubling that folks that deliver lifesaving care are even allowed to strike..

You know who should go on strike?

Politicians. More good would come from them staying home, than going to work..

 You beat me to it!

If they went on strike it would actually show how few of them are needed.

Trouble here is they vote on their own pay rises here as in should we vote yes to the recommended pay rise?

I don't think they've ever voted no.

Junior Dr's are back, I hope they are ready to catch up on the 13 hour waiting times their strike has caused in some local A and E hospitals here.
