Yes they are coming apart at the seams and the queens demise doesn't help at all as she was the last real figurehead for them.
She's gone and so has the public's desire for more pomp and gilded bullshit.
The queen was the last of our great British past this lot now are nothing but a dysfunctional family who get little respect compared to Her Maj.

The chaos, if it is chaos, was not caused by Queen Liz II passing, but by the quality of those stepping up to replace her. They are now more in the public eye with more responsibility and media scrutiny and some of them, maybe all, are buckling under it. I think Prince William has already made a faux pas by making some political statements - demanding Israel cease fire against a terrorist group that seeks Israel destruction in its founding documents. Of course calling for a ceasefire seems harmless enough but it is still a political statement. He could have said maybe that the situation is tragic and that he hopes that the matter can be resolved.

Ps: I am still of the view that having King Harry and Queen Meghan would be a bit of fun in an era when the end of the world and nuclear annihilation could be less than twenty years away and maybe much sooner.

Apart from Princess Anne, no other royal can come close to the late Queen for dedication to the country.
She is old school, as is Charles, and it's unfortunate he had to wait till he was elderly, and in poor health before he got his chance.
Queen Elizabeth was young when she succeeded to the throne, Prince William is young, maybe he could do the job, maybe not.

The other question is...given the fact that the majority of the Royals are now either uninteresting, or more like soap stars than dignified heads....do we still want them?

Camilla has nipped off abroad for a break, (all too much work for her) haha, leaving Charles to face cancer treatment without her. Edward has decided to step back, well he was never in front!, Kate's vanished along with the kids, and you can't ask how she is. I think she had cervical cancer, that takes quite a while to recover from, but why don't they just say she's feeling well, or recovering well, but nothing! Why? They have never been this secret before.

Only Wills and Anne holding the fort. Anne don't nip abroad for a rest!

Gone to pot since our queen died. She worked til she died none of these can hold a candle to her! I feel for Charles, he really can't do much at the moment.

They are all vanishing, I ask, what the hell is going on? Can't they cope, or is something more sinister going on?

They can't go on forever so maybe now is the moment to fade away or pack their bags and leave with a little dignity.
The fairy tale no longer holds true in the 21st century
Gates and Bezos sit on millions billions that their ideas and companies successfully pull in for them while everyone knows
the royals did bugger all to be in that club.
Are they wealthy enough to be in that club these days? Today's billionaires have super yachts and personal jet aircraft whilst our king has bugger all compared. Our royas look like the poor relatives these days.
People say they bring in so much tourist money which always has me scratching my head... they're a tourist attraction... not to be taken seriously then?
They do so much for this country... I suspect they are beginning to look a little jaded now before world leaders and other
dignitaries.
They are now so outdated they might even be holding the country back... ever thought of that?
A robot royal family with AI imbedded might be the way to go?
Retirement home for Charles and exchange handshakes and thank yous and pack them off to Scotland.
Then again maybe one of you can come up with an idea how they can stay what they can do for us and themselves that will have relevance for everyone.

I do prefer to have a monarchy, but I agree Jack, they do seem more like the poor relations.

The queen was the glue, and without her they are falling apart.

Let's not forget the "Queen's Mother". She was also a stalwart. It seems that Britain's Monarchy has been led by a Matriarchy for sometime and together - the Queen Mum + Liz II - gave a sort of dignity to Britain as Head of State and the Commonwealth. Our politicians have neglected the Commonwealth and decided to be America's Poodle and an EU underling.

She was a different era, the last of the greats. Sadly, the rest are nowhere near as strong as her, or as resolved. Meghan seems to be a clone of the American dominatrix...in looks and behaviour.

I didn't care much for Andy and Fergie marching into the church recently.

We were told he was gone for good but he's slowly sneaking back and with his ex-wife.

And Andrew is despised, a proven liar, amongst other more serious accusations.

His ex wife, once splashed all over the papers, having her toes sucked by her 'financial adviser', has made money from the Royals as brazenly as Meghan has....yet back they are, proving to the nation that the Royals must be incredibly bloody desperate to find people to represent them.

On a brighter note, Kate's uncle will be taking part in Celebrity Big Brother. Mind you, even that side of the family had its darker moments - five years ago he was convicted for punching his wife in the face.

I think the reality is it's over and is a pretty good symbol of the U.K's decline.
Shouldn't be to difficult to find someone who can cut ribbons and pretend to dig a hole to put a cherry tree in the ground
