For a few months now my breakfast has consisted of a swig of EVOO (don't worry I have a separate bottle) and a heaped teaspoon of peanut butter. I had a bit of a belly appearing... swollen looking. It's almost flat now... nearly gone! I don't get the urge to eat again for around 8 to 10 hours and then I have around a cupful of Bombay mix. Couple of hours later my evening meal. Just had a chicken curry with recooked rice. Might have a large serving of full fat live yoghurt sliced root ginger handful of blueberries handful of nuts three dates some cardamom some coriander powder. Three times a day a cayenne pepper capsule plenty of green tea and or water through the day. Last thing before bed a hot brew of grated stem ginger cloves more coriander powder and the juice of half a lemon. Sticking to this quite well because it's easy to stick to and enjoyable... I live to a hundred at this rate!
I've kind of given up on starches, but I've been reading about how re-cooking rice or potatoes after putting them in the fridge really lowers the glycemic load..

Yeah same for spuds and pasta they become a resistant starch as opposed to being a high carb.
It's easy to cheat on the rice.... buy the ready cooked microwave in two minutes stuff and keep it in the fridge the day before you're going to use it... same with pasta saves a lot of messing about.

I love a nice cup of tea in the morning.
Coffee with afternoon tea, or just a coffee, I am not much for eating in the daytime.
Evening, a large glass of Chardonnay, only with my evening meal, I have no interest in drinking alcohol without food.
Coffee later on.

I love coffee but I tend to drink it with cream as I don't like milk, so I've cut down and mostly drink filtered water or mango and green tea. My water filter is the best thing I've ever bought.
I drink water straight from the tap, about 2 pints a day. The only time I buy water is when abroad....we are lucky in that tap water tastes good here.
I always buy decaf coffee...though I will drink none decaf when out.
I am not a coffee snob, I buy instant and like Starbucks and Costa plain Americano, with a bit of milk on the side. Coffee made with hot milk is horrible, way too sickly.
Double shot espresso or cappuccino, first thing in the morning. I very rarely drink coffee after that.
My body struggles to metabolise alcohol, so a glass of blush or white wine spritzer is about my limit. LOVE champagne, but again, one glass is about all I can stomach. Can’t drink spirits at all, and I only ever drink if I’m out for lunch/dinner or I have friends round at home. I never home-alone-drink.
Water always though - around a couple of litres a day.

Water filters aren't just for the taste. They filter out things you don't need to be drinking. While I don't filter mine, my GF does. I probably will start at some point..

It's just another gadget I won't be buying into.
I have been drinking tap water all my life, so far I haven't noticed any ill effects.

People drink shitty things all over the planet their entire life. Doesn't mean it wouldn't be better to drink water with less shitty things it.
Somewhere in France is an 80 year old that drinks wine and smokes all day. Doesn't change the fact that both are carcinogenic.
I'm not saying to freak out but we should take heed to new information as it comes out. Lead is very easy to filter out, and if one has the means to make sure their water isn't slowly poisoning them, I think I'd avail myself to measures that could so.
Virtually every health issue we face, can be mitigated in part by being healthier. Being healthier is a result of being better informed and acting on that information. Health (and happiness) and longevity are more than just luck. They are down to how we fuel and maintain our bodies.

This one filters out microplastics and a whole host of crap. It tastes different too. After drinking the filtered stuff you can really taste the chlorine in the tap water.
Our water isn't shitty. I think you can damage your health a lot more by fretting about everything you eat and drink, take a chill pill.
Our water in Manchester is just soft, that's all. It doesn't mean it's any cleaner or less full of debris than anywhere else in the UK.
Fertilizers, pesticides, or other chemicals applied to land near the water can leach in. Microplastics are still present in tap water even though efforts are made to filter it out.
Maddog, I'm not surprised you are wary of drinking tap water.
What city has the worst tap water?
Cities With the Worst Public Water Quality
Houston, Texas. ...
Omaha, Nebraska. ...
Fresno, California. ...
Reno, Nevada. ...
Modesto, California. ...
Pasadena, California. ...
Lubbock, Texas. ...
Midland, Texas. Midland's drinking water contains 16 contaminants with levels above acceptable health limits, as well as 30 contaminants of potential concern.

Well, all of those places are about as close to me as London is to you. Or Kiev in some cases..
But as Diggs mentioned all of us are suspetable to things in our water.
I don't know how many parts per million of whatever will impact my health, but I see nothing wrong with trying to limit them.

Is it a Berkey? That's what my GF uses. But they are a little pricey..
